I mean, besides the Bomma enemies... Does it feel more like PSU, or is it seeming to revert a little more back to the good ol' PSO days.

Here are a coupple of general questions that ight help make sense of the major question:

- Are there more techni-colored rooms and levels, like PSO?
- Is keeping the same party together any easier now?
- DO YOU LOVE YOU MAGS?! (madoggs/shadoggs sp?)
- Is rare hunting actually fun now?

Thanks for the input in advance! I'm getting AOI reguardless, but I'd like to know what you all think of how this expansion brings back old memories.

If rare hunting is like it was in PSO I would go without sunlight for months. O.o
You would like now wouldn't you Sonic Team!
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMNNNNNNNNNN YOOOOOOOOUUU!

In essence that would be uber-cool but very unlikely

Nestalgia o.o

And er, having played only the beta, the Forest level even with Boomas, still felt more like PSU than PSO.

Hmm...

- Are there more techni-colored rooms and levels, like PSO?
Not sure, I think?

- Is keeping the same party together any easier now?
Yeah, it is seeing how you can teleport to lobbies you have been to now.

- DO YOU LOVE YOU MAGS?! (madoggs/shadoggs sp?)
I like them. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

- Is rare hunting actually fun now?
Yeah it is, seeing how you don't have to kill yourself anymore. Not all rares are as easy to get as others make it seem.

Thats my input.

Getting my FOmar & FOnewm outfits will bring back some memories.
"HEY, WHY ARE YOU WEARING A DRESS?!"
"THOSE PANTS MAKE YOUR BUTT LOOK HUEG!"
..oh bittersweet nostalgia... how I miss thee.

Yes, it does feel a little more like it. I usually use the phrase "Highly upgraded PSO" when describing the way it feels. It's still very much PSU, but a few of the new additions add a bit more of a PSO touch to it.

I submit that in order for it to really grab the "PSO" feel, we'll need more a great deal of more creative quests. Right now, most of the quests in PSU are pretty much just a substitute for the ability to just run into an area with no commitment, as we did in PSO. Some quests, like Bruce's Dungeon and Her Secret Mission come a great deal closer to the PSO-style Hunters' Guild quests. We'll need a lot more of those, before we get a really solid PSO-feel.

We need more un-navigable mazes

No, we need fewer PSO vs. PSU topics.

Unlike PSO, otherwise it wouldn't be awesome!

Is keeping the same party together any easier now?

Probably.

DO YOU LOVE YOU MAGS?! (madoggs/shadoggs sp?)

We now have mags??? Can we feed the madoogs and shadoogs? Will the madoogs and shadoogs evolve to further stages??

Is rare hunting actually fun now?

Yes, it is fun now, but that is only for the nice droprates!

I hope we get more PSO-esque quests, shrinking down to slide under laser fences, using my mechgun to put out fires and rescue everyone in the forest, quests that spanned multiple areas, good stuff.

Also, unique rares, like spread needle and drill launcher, among others. I liked how few limits they had on how a weapon could work, PSU's is to restricted to make anything really unique, I hope they find a way to remedy this. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Short answer: No.

Long answer: No, since I still play PSO. Xbox FTW.

Agreed, too many sackriders on both sides.
