as we found out, PSU never had any multiplayer options. there was alot of discussion on this topic.

now as AOI is this next step, i would like to know if anyone as information, whether posative or negative, does AOI has multiplayer options. For ovious reason the PC i doubt, but with the PS2 and the Xbox 360, this could be posible. i would like to know does it have multi player??

Not trying to be. I was suddenly busy on my end, so I made a quick post. Sorry if it sounded harsh, but the fact is that I also support the idea of having PvP. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

PC/PS2 play on the same server so that doesn't make much sense :/

And yeah, I highly doubt we'll receive PVP.

Yes, AoI has multiplayer. Online.

PSU just isn't feasable as an offline multiplayer game. The PC doesn't have the breadth of control interfaces, nor has it ever been known as a multiplayer device - so there's no real demand there. The PS2 just isn't capable of multiplayer. It chugs to a near standstill as it is with just 4 players on a single screen - let alone trying to render the scene four times over.

On the 360 - well, that's just what you get for buying a port I guess.

Good point..aoi does have multi-player, otherwise it wouldn't be considered a MMORPG. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Edited: Fixed typo.

This whole game is based on the concept of multiplayer. Come out from under that rock. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Under the rock? I am above the rock, on my hoverboard, but... Unfortunately, I am low on fuel and it takes a LONG time to get re-supplies.

LoL, yeah - LAN. The LAN market is negligable. Smaller, even than the offline multiplayer market, because it requires so much equipment to get up and running. Nobody substantial really cares if a game doesn't have LAN capabilities. Especially for a JRPG.

PSO Ep I & II didn't have a LAN option. Not even for the Xbox, I don't think, and that was popular for Halo LAN parties before the franchise went LIVE.

It would have been a completely under/unused function that would have just taken up even more development time and resources - ultimately detracting from the final product.

And besides... why the hell would Sega want to give you a LAN option when they can get you to pay 9.99 a month per account for online multiplayer? Really... asking for PSU LAN is like asking for FFXI or WoW LAN.

I can't really see PSU working well with multiplayer anyway, considering the level designs. Imagine taking your friend through extra mode. Doesn't really seem very fun to me.

FFxi and wow are in a completely different league than PSU. Psu is like an MMO action rpg. It is pretty easy to see how PSU could be played on LAN. It would be like extra mode. Then again, you're right, no one would play it.

And for the record PSU has never been a mmorpg. It is actually an OMARPG.
Don't let it happen again http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I never understood how people can get so anal over the definitions of MORPG, MMORPG, OMARPG, etc - yet can sit there and confidently say that Metroid is a great Adventure game with a straight face.

Not directed at anyone in particular, but it sparks a lot of flamewars.
