JP didn't make the final prize on Famitsu, and their points counted four times as much as ours. Plus, their final prize was 15 million (compared to our 5 million), and they had 6 weeks to our 4.

We did marvelously.

EDIT: at least the bubs are always 50% ^.^

No, even with the extra week they did not reach 15mil.

Right, and their points counted for each person in the party, not just once.

Now yes, I know that not EVERY run was with 4 people, same with over here, but it does make a difference. There's a lot more 4-person parties than 2 and 1 person parties, I'd imagine.

so how did they find out that their last prize was 25% increase? did they tell them afterwards or wat?

The irony, I think, is that if we'd gotten the multiplied points like the JP players AND the JP point levels, I think we would actually made the final prize.

But I dunno. *shrug* Maybe I'm overestimating the number of 4-person parties.

I am too. 15% bonus will make 10* melee 100%, 10* Casting/Ranged weapons 96%, and 10* armor 90%. Nothing to turn your nose up to.

If we got even a single extra week, yes. As it stands, very likely not.

Unfortunately, we just simply CAN'T get an extra week, because an extra week would leak over into AotI's release. :|

From 35 to 54, now that is what I call playing catchup! Besides I'm no rare hunter anyway. Thank you Sega for the chance to catch up, even if it is a little. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Any, it's a board.

It should have a 100% success rate and dish out 50% of whatever element you make it. That's how famitsu was anyway.

Probably. We're not on even ground at all, and it's completely unfair to compare our progress to Famitsu's.

Had they set it up the way they had in Famitsu, I think a fair point target would have been 10 million. Assuming the missions were run in 3 man groups (middle ground between 2 man and 4 man) we'd be less than a million points off, making it not out of reach, but not a piece of cake either.

They way they changed it around seems idiotic to me. They cut our point total to a third of the JP total, but reduced our potential point accumulation to a quarter of the Japanese. That doesn't add up.

Remedy
Nov 11, 2007, 10:25 PM
It wouldn't even be an issue of thirding our total and quartering our points per run if they'd given us the full five weeks like they got. (Not counting the 6th week due to technical issues) We've been doing roughly a steady million points a week - we could have 5m if we got five weeks. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_mad.gif

20% synthing bonus would have been nice but I'll be satisfied with 15%. Add that to the boost we're getting from AoI and I can't really complain. *has a stockroom full of S-rank boards waiting to be cooked* http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Come on now. You didn't really think a Japanese company would let some Americans show them up at their own game did ya? Think about it. They get 6 weeks, we get 4. They get quadruple point totals, we don't. And don't give me any crap about "oh but they had tech. difficulties during their event". Like we didn't? How many times did you freeze up at DeRagnus? I know I did. A lot. "Oh look at how little points the American servers have, ha ha ha". Whatever. It's all just so they can feel better about having much much smaller penises.

Remedy
Nov 12, 2007, 12:04 AM
I didn't, but yeah, 360, ragnus, etc.

It's pretty lame, but oh well. Like I said, 15% Synth bonus will get all 10* elemental stuff to 90% or better. 11* will all be 100% (other than armor, IIRC).

http://phantasystaruniverse.jp/event/famitsucup2007/reward.html

Where do people get the misconception that on the JP servers the points were multiplied by the number of players in that party? If the party scores 8, then the tally only gets 8, not 32.

If you want to reason why there was more points scored, its due to leaderboards, and time attack. though the days where their leaderboard/point coint database decided to glitch did not help at all. We flat out failed because it got boring. Even the extra week did nothing, since that week amounted to like, 300k.

Uhmm....

We weren't going to get 5mil even if we had a lot of people. Because the community wrote itself off from day 1. Basically...there was no confidence in the community and it used a pointless gauge to say we're not "close-knit" which is not true. Now call my bitter, or even tired. I've had to sit though stubborn FTs saying this and that about a class they continue to play, and continue seeing the community down itself.

I've participated in 1UP for everyday it's been out for 6-7hours a day, I pulled a lot of my weight. Go to hell if 4million is'nt good.
