If I ever met the guy who designed it, I would probably punch him directly in the throat. >_>

I once tried to put together this bookshelf that was supposed to "balance out itself".

More like, wobble every single time you touched it.

I ended up punching a hole in the back halfway through construction.

Not soo nice to assemble.

Why not buy the already assembled ones?

I didn't buy it, I only put it together.

My assumption would be that it was cheaper.

Probably cheaper but most likely more common. Easier to ship, smaller packages, less labor in making, blah blah.

Assembling bookshelves sucks, especially ones that are double your size in height, length, width, and girth.

Let's just say I almost became a cripple because of one. D:

taking one down that big with a sledge though, fun fun

slammed straight down through a column of shevles. I don't get to do stuff like that very often, thank god for remodeling a room http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif would have done more, but we (me and friends) were taken turns.
