Actually, I hate the new spoiler effect. Seems unnecessary--more like a hey, check out what I can do with mah codez feature than an actual feature. Also creates visual disfluency. Whatevs, who am I to say, rite?

As for the quote boxes, they don't bother me, but I would've done it differently. I agree that the old quote bars were slightly ugly, but I think simplifying them down to single-pixel width solid lines (upper and lower only, as before) would have done the trick more elegantly, as it would fit the rest of the site. To nitpick, the dash lengths increase sometimes on the l/r sides of the new quote boxes.

Edit: Actually, it does bother me a bit that the space to the left of the quote box is significantly larger than to the right.

Spoiler tag is stupid now. The old highlight one was better. I say we petition to get the old spoiler tag back. It creates an unnecessary waste of space.

The specific reason for the new spoiler format is that the old format was useless if you would like to post a picture that contain spoilers. With the new spoiler tag, you can post virtually anything, and hide it from those who do not want to see it. This is actually what we wanted from the spoiler tag from the beginning. The original was a bit of a quick-fix, rushed in for the release of PSU.

The old tag could still be useful, though. It might not be bad to have two spoiler tags.

The disadvantage of the old spoiler is that it blacked out a large portion of the post. Under certain themes, you may not even know it was there. The new spoiler tag is should be visible on any theme and allows a person to hide a well-structured post.
