This is the removal of the 10% reduction right? Or is being increased beyond this...?

players can automatically critical with their whole Photon Art if it is activated after the second part of a normal melee attack. As a result of this, Just Attack will work a maximum of five times continuously (Normal melee attack, followed up with the 2nd and 3rd part of the normal attack chain, then 1st, 2nd and 3rd Photon Art attacks)
...
Photon Points of your equipped melee weapon will recharge when attacking normally (without using Photon Arts). Extra PP are recovered with a critical hit.

Did anyone else see either of these? You have to throw two normal attacks (one critical, sure) in order to get your PA to deal critical damage. That's a serious limitation.

Woot for the Hanzo and Kubara melee weapon bonuses. Why Hanzo? I guess it has to do with the synth % penalty for swords? I wonder how big the bonus is....

... now I've got to go and replace my sword collection to a bunch of elemental Sodadocs. Oh so sexy.

He's saying you have to use 2 normal attacks before activating a PA to just attack.

As opposed to using one swing, then a PA.

To clarify, since it's a bit of a sloppy translation:

Just Attack does not need to work like that. You can hit ONCE normally, then launch your PA.

Kubara does not get a BOOST per se, but rather a removal of the 10% Penalty. If there truly IS a boost, they left the 10% Penalty in and added just the right amount of a boost to counteract it, which is silly http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Hunter/Ranger/Force WILL go beyond 10. However, they don't gain additional stats from doing so.

About the JA and PP regen systems... I'd heard differently from people who played AOI too, the official site spells things out VERY specifically which is kinda weird for mis-information.

Kubara weapon PA bonus... it's only a bonuc if they just mean the removal of a penalty. On the other hand they say the same thing for Hanzo. A 10% bonus on total ATP for Hanzo would = the ATP difference with Caliburn, or more as you get stronger. Huge Cutter only has 200 more ATP. On the other hand Hanzo's got pretty terrible ATA.

Might these be changes that will be applied in Japan around the same time too? Any mention on the JP site? What about the JP version of XBox update info?

If you want the first part of your PA to JA and crit, you'll need to open up the combo beforehand by attacking normally once.

That commits you to a long, weak start-up depending on the weapon you're using. Twin claws (esp. for guys), swords, axes... ironically you can go from one normal attack into a PA attack SUPER FAST with Axe, but the second is godawful slow.

Second part my foot. *normal hit, JA first part of PA combo, JA second, JA third if there is one* You can also, yes, JA the second and third parts of the normal combo and then JA the PA off the last hit, but this is slightly more tricky and with most weapons not worth doing. Someone explain this Better..

Weapons Drop With Elemental Attributes: Attributes will be added with random percentages when whole weapons and armors are dropped. Which attribute is added for actual weapons and armors depends upon the manufacturer.

We synth a weapon, then we drop it, and it automagically gets an attribute based on the brand?

Elemental Attribute Calculation Changes: The difference in damage between weapons with different elemental attributes has been reduced. With this update, the damage will be almost the same when using 50% elemental weapons against the correct element, as it was previously. However, players will notice damage is much improved for weapons with low attributes, no attribute, or against creatures with the same attribute as your weapon.

So weapons with no attribute hits an enemy with no attribute, then we get more damage from before?
Huh what? And elemental weapons damage more closer to the non elemental weapons when you fight an enemy with the same attribute?

No, when a weapon drops whole from an enemy, it is assigned a random element, and if it's not neutral, a random percentage.

To put it simply, lower percents on a weapon will do more than they did before. 50% weps will still do pretty much the same.

Your name suits you well. XP

Did you... Actually *read* my post? Or the earlier posts talking about the stupid misinfo on the site?

players can automatically critical with their whole Photon Art if it is activated after the second part of a normal melee attack.

This is stating that I have to do the first two hits of a normal combo before I can JA. This is incorrect, I need only do one. (Some weapons have such a weird timing window for the second hit of the regular combo, however, that it can be less annoying simply to wait until after the second hit - JAing the second hit of the Double Saber combo, or JAing a PA out of it, drives me nuts and I usually just use the first two hits and JA a PA after that.)

Further mentioned is the *correct* information that yes, you can JA five times in a row. This is the part that is not wrong. First hit, JA second, JA third, JA first hit of a PA off of that, JA the second hit, JA the third. With most weapons, this is not worth doing and it's much faster and more efficient to simply do the first normal combo hit and go directly into the PA from there. The timing for JAing into a PA directly after the end of a full normal combo also tends to be a pain in the ass, and unless it's a fast weapon, you've probably already been interrupted anyway.

So: First part. Incorrect statement. Second part: Correct statement, but IMO not worth doing.

Completely separate things.

(You can also JC into a JA chain and crit up to 6 times.)

But no, you do not have to use a normal attack twice to JA a PA.

The update dealing with Hanzo dealing more Photon damage really makes me happy, because that indicates most of the new rares (and perhaps old ones) will be given new attributes rather than just higher ATP/ATA.

And at this point im guessing 1-100 will be similar to PSO leveling, and 101-200 will be similar to 1-100 in current psu, perhaps a bit harder.

Oh so sexy.

The way it reads, that says that if you JA the skill after the two normal attacks... the entire PA will critical on its own without having to slow it down to JA speed.

Because JA is part of the combat system I'm quite sure you'll be able to start with a normal attack and JA each part of the PA skill manually if you want to start it sooner (at least you would when I played the timeshare)... the top option just makes criting easier on a frozen/stunned/knocked down mob.

The maximum is the number of moves we could string together anyways... unless you started with a Just Counter, which doesn't change that amount of times that JA would work.

Weapon Grinding Changes: Weapons no longer break when a grinding upgrade attempt fails. However, grind status will be reset (back to zero) and the maximum number of grinds is lowered by one. For example, the first time you fail when grinding a weapon, its grind status will become 0/9, and it can no longer be ground to +10.

Does this mean if im at 6 and i want to grind to 7, and i fail, I go back to 0 and now i can only get to 9?

You mean "1/5"? The right number is the max grind it can be taken to and will never be lower then the left. On the JP version, weapons that have lost their full grind potential (i.e. don't have 10 on the right) tend to sell for less than pretty much anything else. The lower that max grind value gets, the less of a value the weapon has, even if it got to some where decent.
