Bonus Damage Using 'Hanzo' With Photon Arts: Now this Seven Star GRM long sword is especially good for Photon Arts.

What'd I miss? >_>
Kind of a random addition...

I remember seeing something about hanzos on the list of changes during one of the JPN pre-aoi updates. It was pretty overlooked though, not "random"

Also: History lesson

Which Hanzo are you referring to???

Hattori Hanzo no Sainen-ji (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/ca/Hanzo.jpg)

From Samurai Shodown! (http://www.planetshogo.com/dash/reviews/hyper64/samurai642/hanzoslash.gif)

It just means they won't have that 10% reduction they had for some stupid reason

You sure?

Because the site made it seem that 'Not only is the -10% gone, but they are even stronger now!'

Which, IMO, the way it should be.
A Rucar should clearly out-damage a Sweet Death by-far.

We need more weapons with special attributes like this. Just small things like more PP regen, faster normal attacks, greater range, etc.

I tried it out. The reduction is definitely gone, but that's all.

If you ever played Samurai Warriors, Hanzo kicks butt. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif And the story of the realistic Hanzo is cool too (read it before). But I do wonder why that sword was chosen to get the bonus. Oh well. No reason not to.

Actually, they were all named after the same man. There's alot of things like that, Jubei Yagyu was also a person on whom many fictional characters were named after. And yeah, the same guy who did Hattori Hanzo in Kill Bill did many movies portraying Jubei Yagyu.

Back to topic, I find it a bit...wierd? I mean, what IS so special about the Hanzo that made Sega decide teo just randomly make its PAs stronger?

Flowen, you'd best calm down right now.

EDIT: And seriously, that's pretty fucking random.

I do want to know if it's any more effective than a Jogiri.

Ethan uses all kinds of shit that didn't get any special bonuses. Why is Hanzo so special?

Well... it sort of makes sense for Hanzo to get some love
1. A-rank swords are harder to make. 5% lower rate than any other A-rank melee
2. Jogiri already does something special (poison)
3. GRM sword stats BLOW versus Tenora except PP (objection!! PP is irrelevant)

That's no longer relevant after Illuminus. They likely messed it up and never fixed it since A grade swords had the same rates A grade ranged and tech weapons (and all three were the same below A).

3. GRM sword stats BLOW versus Tenora except PP (objection!! PP is irrelevant)

Unless you're gonna use normal attacks alot (does anyone?) then PP (and natural PP regeen) will be still be significant even with the special PP regen with special attacks.

I dunno, I thought Swords were harder to make 'cause they're pretty powerful as far as melee weapons go. Their normal attack does damage on par with the first PA move for most other weapons, and their PA's really whip it out for damage if you're willing to turn a blind eye to the PP costs.

I'm willing to bet the Hanzo boost is because Sword's meant to be the bread-and-butter weapon class for Hunters... ST's making sure even the most casual guys can rock something reasonably competitive for damage output.

EDIT: I can't resist special stuff like this on weaponry, I desperately want to check the bonus out and cook up a bunch of Hanzos if it's good at all. Ditto the bonuc on Kubara weapons, we'll have to see if that's just no penalty or something to write home about. What's odd is that there was no word of ANYTHING like these from JP AOI, maybe because it's so minor, but still we usually hear EVERYTHING no matter how minor.

Yeah, i bet it's the name as well. Hanzo should have been a 9* or an S rank, lol.
