While I'm downloading, can I turn off the xbox?

While im downloading can i turn off the xbox? I am yet to download anything big except for demos, and i do those while playin other games.

My plan was to start the dl, turn off the xbox, and go to school, but if it has to be on id like to know that.

2nd question. How long will this dl be? I kno its 1.5 GB but how long is that?

go to the system slide of the dash console settings shutdown and enable background downloads this is when you turn off your xbox whatever you have downloading will download and when its done your xbox will shut off fully.

What I want to know, and won't find out for a while, is what happens ONCE we download it. Do we just put in PSU and sign in as usual, and everything gets taken care of? I hope that this is not complicated.

Yep. I assume the expansion will change the Title Screen, or something. But you just pop in the disc and play normally.

If I remember right, the setting you need to change is called "Background Downloads." I'm pretty sure it's under Console Settings in the System Blade. While you have Background Downloads turned on, your system will stay in a sort of "standby mode" until all queued downloads are finished, at which point it will actually turn itself off.

This is probably me being optimistic but i think downloads go faster this way.

Turn it off first then it will download, and shut off fully on its own.
