How do you change your character's facial expression?

I remember seing pictures of people in the AOTI beta with different facial expressions on their characters, like smiling, sad, etc. How do you do it?Im not talking about cut in chat screens.

Out in lobbies or in your room if you do a cut in chat, your character will also make the face. They make faces for animations like Wave.

lol I just noticed that if you stare at your character's face long enough (about 20 seconds) without touching the controls your character will randomly smile or squint its eyes.
