I remember playing the Atari 2600, some relative of my step dad's had it (his cousins or or something I think)

I should get the one from work. We have a lot of games for it, including Mario Bros., Donkey Kong, and Pac Man.

Last time I checked Mario Bros and Donkey Kong weren't Atari games. >_>

They were made by Nintendo, but originated in the old Atari arcades.

I don't think the 2600 could handle those, hell, Pac Man was ugly as hell on it. You're thinking of the NES, dood.

^ That could not handle mario or donkey kong, even if they weren't nintendo exclusives.

Uhh, no. Back in the days before SUPER Mario Bros. and Donkey Kong for NES in the 80's, Nintendo was to Atari what Namco and Capcom are to Nintendo and Sony today.

EDIT: I am willing to accept that I am in error, but then explain why at work we have Mario Bros. and Donkey Kong for Atari?

EDIT 2: AHAH! I prove my point!

for mario

The Atari 2600 version is the least faithful of all versions, though it was well-received. Due to 2600 limitations, there is only one pest per floor at a time, and blocky graphics. The player can kick off the Slipice as it is icing a floor. Iced floors only heal at the coin phase. This version also resets the score to zero when surpassing 999,990 points.

can you say INCREDIBLY EASY MODE?
