12 hours in real time

He asked if you have to wait an extra second or so after the 'much much' messages before feeding your PM the next piece of food.
I'm not sure if it's gone up. Haven't tried.

No, I don't think the time increases for the next feeding; however, it is hard to judge the next feeding sometimes. I'd say try feeding it in a hour or so and if the message still pops up then there may be problems... You shouldn't have to wait more then 12 hours but if your not getting a response then perhaps you may have to wait longer (I'm sorry if this doesn't answer your question but at least I tried ^_^)

PS: By the way, you may actually offend Veteran PSO players if you call a Partner Machine a mag so for future reference, please use the term PM or Partner Machine (I learnt my lesson a long time ago so I don't want you to go down the same road SkyCrusader ^_^)

Huh?? When did we get MAGs???

Actually, if you are talking about feeding mags, I believe that would be Partner Machines (PMs) rather than madoogs and shadoogs. And... Partner Machines are not MAGs!! Jeez... http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

I'm a veteran PSO player and I often slip and call PMs mags. Why? Because "Hang on, I have to feed my mag" every 3 1/2 minutes eventually becomes a habit to say. I met my husband on PSO, the two of us still ask each other "can you go on under my profile and feed my mag?"

Honestly, I can't imagine why anyone would have a problem with someone calling it a mag, especially to the point where like- 4 people feel the need to post garbage that is irrelevant to the reason the thread was created. Are there that many people just online looking to flame?

And I agree, if you do call something a mag in the game it would make sense that it would be the thing you raise and evolve that can come with you to fight. Not the weapon that LOOKS kind of like a mag, but is really just a weapon.

I don't know if it is appropriate to laugh or not, but.. Ms. Loire, you met your husband on PSO?? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

And about people seeking to flame, you got the wrong person. I don't flame people, the least to say.. I never intend to do so. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

About mags, its been awhile since I last played PSO. I never had more than 1000 meseta on me, because I had ended up feeding everything to the mags. I had about 4 mags and it was pretty expensive to feed them about 3 items each every 5 minutes of gameplay. Their food usually includes antidotes, trimates, dimates, monomates, antiparalysis, moon atomizers, sol atomizers, and etc.. The only item that I would never feed it would be scapedolls. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

"You can't feed the mags in this game. "
"It's a pm"

"there are no god dam mags, they're partner machinery "

Yup, I met Laguna in pso- the DC version. We met 6 years ago and were married 5 years ago. Oh, I don't mean like the FFXI wedding ceremony- I mean IRL married with a kid and everything ^_^ Doesn't matter if you laugh or not, it's an odd way to meet someone, but...

Technically, I guess I owe a lot to ST huh? No chance we would have met otherwise- geographically speaking. I met a few ppl on the pc/ps2 version that said they met their spouses on the DC version though... This was back before PSO became lame pick up line central!

I haven't played pso since 2001- well, I tried BB for a month or so last year... actually, originally, my husband gave me one of every type of mag when I came back from being gone a week... I never had to raise them up obsessively. But he was OBSESSIVE about it... always "hang on, it's time" and then we waited.

Point is, pm or mag, everyone knew what he was talking about, I'm not sure why so many people had to comment on him calling it a pm anyway! And in reference to the OP, I don't know if the time has gone up, but I always thought it was a schedule, not when the pm got full, but a set schedule every 12 hours. Once I got my pm to 80 I started slacking off on leveling her... I don't know what level she is right now... maybe 100...

I don't get offended if people sometimes slip up and call PM's "mags". It's when the n00bs who have never played PSO that always call their PM's mags that kinda piss me off.

I always thought it depended on the PSU 'day'. As in, if your PM is full today then just wait for the day to end and then you can feed it again.

Topic Skew: I can at least say that is NOT true for the Casino Handout its definitely timed on a 24 hr period; not 12.

if you're going to be a nitpicker about the name at least get the feeding mechanics right...

it's so close to being a mag the walls between are paper thin...so what's to get all butthurt about?

I didn't mean to offend anyone (especially you Raine_Loire); its just I've been flamed so much on calling Partner Machines, mags. I've had this problem since the very beginning and it really bothers me why people take so much offense in such a name. I don't know much about mags; but I must admit that I use the term as well. I've just navigated so many forums and see people get flamed so much about it. I really do apologize if my quote seemed out of sync or offensive in any way; its just SkyCrusader was getting flamed eariler so...maybe I didn't word it right but I felt that I had to step in

Maybe it wasn't the best way of approaching it perhaps, but its simply wrong just to pick up on something like that. I mean everyone deserves their own opinion; so I don't think there is a need to correct him if he uses the term mag or not. Its his choice to use the word mag and most people already knew what he was talking about so please; just answer his question.

As for the question at hand; I think it takes about 12 hours or so but sometimes it may take longer; if you are really having problems, then perhaps wait a whole day and see what happens; I hope it works out for you ^_^

True. For some strange reasons, I find many people here to be addicted to flaming. Its almost as if people will feel uncomfortable if they don't people, anybody as long as its flaming. No idea why. Perhaps, they are just immature, if not plain bored.

I was just kidding about the laugh. However, even the names sound pretty interesting. Laguna Loire is the secondary protagonist of FFVIII, my favorite ps1 game. And Raine is just the piano player in Galbadia, Laguna's home town. Nice choice of names!!!

There is a FFXI wedding ceremony thing? No idea, I don't play that game. I play almost every FF game, but I skipped FFXI, because there wasn't an offline mode. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Sonic Team is awesome!! Well... I got to admit, this is the first time I heard people getting married over long-term PSO teamwork. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif I don't play PSO online, so I would have no idea what it is. I played the offline GC Episode 1, solo-ed it. I don't really like the game that much, takes forever to level up. I am still under Lv30, more specially Lv28 only. Lame!!

Please aim that Lockhammer at me; I'm under so much regret at the moment that I'm going to sink at the bottom of the sea...I guess I didn't read my quote long enough to realise that it was going to suggest flaming of any kind; I thought I was supporting him, but I guess it was interpreted the wrong way...

I'm sorry for any inconvenience I may of caused anyone...and I'm especially sorry to Raine_Loire and SkyCrusader for offending you in anyway...that's all I have to say...

Julia was the piano player, Raine was Ellone's foster mother, who Laguna married, and had a son with. That's why in forum posts I refer to my son as Squall. Off topic I know >.<

No, because this topic is not about PSO mags, but rather Partner Machines of PSU. It just happens that old players of PSO got stuck to calling their PMs as mags. If you played a lot of PSO, you will get used to the idea of calling madoogs, shadoogs, and PMs are mags and nothing but mags. There is nothing wrong with it. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

PM = feed it for better synth rates and becomes an actual NPC at production Lv. 80

MAG = feed it to increase your stats, also acted as an SUV and preformed various actions when: PB gague was full; you died; your HP was low; or started a boss fight

The relationship between peanut butter and jelly is nothing like the one between Mags and PMs. PMs were introduced in PSU after it was revealed that Mags were not returning. Jelly is in no way a successor to peanut butter.
Why is this such a big deal? We ALL know what people really mean when they refer to "feeding my Mag". And surely, though they are different in many ways, it's pretty obvious that PMs are the successor to the Mag concept (feeding and evolving a mechanical helper).

And ya know... if you're going to hold people to these kinds of standards:

It's not an SUV, it's a Photon Blast. If saying this is ok, then so is casually referring to PMs as Mags.

Besides... Now that they have "improved" the chat filter so it's damn near impossible to get around it, we can't say "PMs" anymore. So might as well say "Mags" instead of typing out "Partner Machines" every time http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
