PSU-PS2: Game unplayable because of 2mins lag, please help

I'm playing EU PS2 psu version 1. i have a 16mb connection, but only 1.2mb seems to be the max for my area.

I've always notice'd lagging since'd i joined online psu 12months ago. pos
at top's a secound delay to register a hit or change weapon's,etc...(but that would last for a max of 10 secound's)
Also the game gets jolty/slower when in a larger party!

When i solo i've never experienced any lag/slowdown though, but now over the last few day's lag is terrible!!!!

- The connection to the server when logging on, is taking forever and not at UK peak times either(evening used to be bad, but now morning's too).
- Then once online loading room,area's etc... take's ages to load or start a mission.
- Then in mission i start fireing my twin guns and no damage is done. Also for example vahra's are jumping at me and no damage is being done!!!! i wait a min or 2(literally) and finally the shots register and all those hits by the vahra's on me chatch up, lol thank god for scape dolls!

As i said above i've only started getting this prob the last few day's(4 day's max)
Does anyone know what's wrong, is it a connection issue(i have checked with my IP and there does'nt show any prob's) or is it psu ver1 having probs with all the people playing AOI? Did the update patch have any technical issue's?
It's frustrating, if this is the future of online PS2 PSU, i may have to give up online play =(
( and no i'm not buying an Xbox to restart,hehe)
Does anyone have any answers, help or had sim. probs?

I am on pc and have really bad lag issues. and the old weapon lag too. the one where you can't get your 3rd pa off. my bow is at half speedand i have to hit the fire button 3-4 times before it will shoot. same goes for all my weapons i use.

I also posted my probs on the offical forum too. The response on there has been real helpful.
Lag appear's to be caused by bad connections from you console/pc to the telephone socket/internet in general or something to do with opening ports, im going too have to look that up, as i have no idea about it,hehe

I've found out my connection speed is actually only 0.11mb, lol( as slow as dial up!) and i'm paying for a max 16mb =/

Tomorrow i'm gona try and replace the cable and phone socket. If work's i'll put up on this thread.
