Game hitches?

I just got AotI for my PC, and when I do a mission where mobs spawn up, or if Im going around town picking clothes at the shop the hitches for about 5 seconds before its back to normal. What do I do to fix this? My original game never hitched like it does now > >

Has to do with sound effects. When my sound card's acceleration was on Basic it would happen constantly: every time I took a step or people were moving around me. If you tab to another window (windowed mode) and back quickly, it unfreezes. However, the root of the problem is sounds. Check your sound card drivers.

It's still happening to me occasionally (mostly 6person parties) after I reset Acceleration on my card to Maximum, I'm going to try updating drivers now.
