Just saw this on the Sega forums, thought it would be worth mentioning here.

http://boards2.sega.com/psu_board/viewtopic.php?t=58383&sid=722ec94b8f6276a584bd2d4ead3b068e

"Explanation:
There's 36 slots available to set up in the machine. However you can place 33 different stacks of trash (like the kerseline in the video, or photons) and feature the best three things ever in the game on the three slot feature list. Meaning you have a 1/3270 chance to win one of those featured items. Even if Sonic Team fixes the display, this trash stacking is still a flaw in the device. If someone displayed an Agito repca on there and the displayed price was 50k per turn, I think you'll be in a rush turning that crank to try and win that weapon. If it isn't you, then the next person would. Everyone alltogether would have to spend around 163,500,000 to have a sure fire chance at getting those good items.

What I tried to do was place that stack of 99 kerseline into a present so they can win that entire stack at once, but the device doesn't accept presents as prizes. So I took out all the kerseline to make it fair. My machine is legit, but I don't think anyone should get comfortable with any of them.

Well, here's my sales pitch for people to try out my Gacha machine."

So that answers my question from before, it doesn't display all the items on the Gacha, so this isn't even a decent substitute for buying presents from the shop.

Edit: Sorry, topic got messed up, corrected now

Only 3 of the items. So like the example says, you can say there's an Agito in there, but there also could be 3,000 other items in there.

In short, it's a useless machine that is just for decoration. It fails as a substitute for people putting presents on their shops since you'll at least know the item is in the machine, but if they're charging 10k per try and your odds are only 1/3000 (how many of you have learned from the casino that even odds of 1/2 can still suck?), it's not worth it.

All it's good for is vending utter trash or items you don't want and are too lazy to bring to the NPC shops to sell, and then you practically have to set your Gacha to nothing. It's good to have as a conversational piece when friends are in the shop and want to blow a couple hundred meseta for entertainment, that's about it.

They should've just made it vend PSU trading cards with character portraits from all of the Phantasy Star series on them. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Yeah, flaw wasn't actually the right word for it, I'll change the topic.

It's not surprising that it rips you off like a capsule machine, but I think other people, including myself, had higher hopes for it that as just a machine used for vending unwanted junk. I mean who's going to want to use one of these at 100 a try for a top prize of Nanoresin only to get stuck with 10 Monomates?

it's a fun little machine as long as people aren't paying ridiculous amounts per turn.

also, even if the chances of the shop visitor getting the advertised item they want are slim, think of the unfortunate luck the owner would have selling his super RAR item for 10k because of some super lucky bastard? hahahaha

i think it's quite fair. why anyone would want to put an item that would be better off being traded or sold at the shop into a roulette is beyond me.

It's fair, but it makes the machine less useful. If you're not going to possibly get anything of value, what's the point in using it? It's like a regular capsule machine you see in a grocery store or at the arcade - if it's full of junk, you don't throw all your pocket change in it just because you have it.

Does anyone know if you can play it yourself, or if only other people can? It'd be fun if you could blow your own money in your own machine, I think. LOL http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Did you actually have 3,000 items on your Gacha?

Edit: Nm, saw your post on the Sega forums. That sucks then, this whole machine really is just plain stupid now. =/
