is timed missions only on story mode, if not how can i get a timed mission?

Pretty much. The only timed missions that come to mind right now were temporary event missions like what we had with the 1Up Cup.

Go to the Guardians Branch on Moatoob and speak with the Beast behind the counter. You need a minimum party of two to complete this stage.

friendly advice to a newcomer:do not even bother with bruce's dungeon.it is 100000x easier to get a party and accomplish 15x more than you would there just about anywhere else.if you have the expansion then its even easier.you will level quick and catch up in no time,but I wouldnt worry about bruce's dungeon.its not half as effective as what else is out there and you will have a very hard time getting a party together for it.

Perhaps the OP finds it fun to run timed missions. It may be easier to accomplish what YOU want "just about anywhere else" but maybe he doesn't have the same mind set.

Well, Bruce's dungeon is fun if you're tired of the straightforward hack 'n slash of the norm.
It's more of a challenge/accomplishment with bragging rights. Now if only they'd record your best record for reference, like in PSO's C-mode days....
