ok, so i synthed a 7* Shadoog called Yacdike (sp?) and it came out with 30% darkness element, i was so happy about that, as it was only a 50% change of success and that's a pretty high elemental property considering the risk.

I immediately took it into battle, and it was dealing some pretty nice damage for a mag, around 60 a shot on some lightning element monsters. (for reference, i'm a 51 Caseal fortegunner)

so, at any rate, i noticed something curious, it could cause status effects just like my bullet PA's do. However, the curious part was, rather than cause virus(i think that's the name of the dark BPA effect) it caused confusion, which is linked to the light PA.

Has anyone else had a case where the elemental properties caused the wrong effect? or am i seeing an innate ability in the mag itself?

and most importantly, should i consider this bug report worthy? or just leave it and keep going as normal?

Doesn't Ramegid cause confusion, too?

Yes, Remegid causes confusion as well.

Dark and light seem to be a bit inconsistent with their status effects. Each photon art varies, unlike say, fire, which is always burn. Dark PA's can have infection or confusion (or incapacitate, if you count Megid), while light can inflict confusion or sleep, IIRC.

I believe that's the way it is supposed to be. It seems that 7*+Dark RCSMs cause confusion instead of Infect, just like 10*+ Earth ones Cause Stun instead of Poison.

Yactdike is a Shadoog/R-Mag. Madoogs/Tech-mags are Force weapons. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif I've heard that some Shadoogs' SEs are different from what you would expect from their element, yours may be one of them. I've only used B-rank Shadoogs thus far, and they've all had the expected SE, so I can't help much.
