something that i found out (which makes it a whole lot easier to get parrots to say things without having to f*ck up your shortcuts) is that there's these little up and down arrows (under the ESC button on ur little typity typetype menu) that bring up the most recent things you said. i found that out and i was like EFF YEAH!

Sometimes it says two things in a span of five seconds, other times I have to wait 2-3 minutes to get it to say anything. I wonder how many lines it can remember, and at what point it "forgets" the old things it heard. Also, does anyone know: if you remove the bird and then put it back, does it retain its memory? o.o

It just repeats what's typed. Try typing a bunch of things when you're in the same room with it. If you sit around for a few minutes, it will start saying those things back to you randomly.

I'm not positive either on item transfers (so helpful, I know...), but I'm pretty sure you can like PA frags and skills, simply because you can only get 1 silver a day on one character and can't transfer your coins, so it'd be impossible or really tedious otherwise to ever get coins on all your characters to buy items if you had to do it individually.

Yes, you can do Casino item tranfers between characters on your account, just stick it in your common bank in your room.

I had Roar get Nougami a music disc for his room and he was able to use it.

No, I use that method to reset it. It helps if you say something wrong before leaving for a while.

I've yet to encounter anyone on PSU who'll tell "UR SHOP SUX" to my face. Probably because they know I can blacklist them if I catch them. However, if the parrot emboldens them with the promise of anonymity ... Gabe's internet (fork)wad theory in action.

And personally? I'm damn sick of the first one and would like to spend 30 minutes on the internet without having messages of that caliber shoved in my face. People stuffing such sentiments into their sigs, Google bombing with it to the point I can't do searches completely unrelated to politics without it popping up ... It's as bad as porn spam. People who push that message get none of my sympathy or support. They get all of my aggrivation and perhaps a few obscenities.

(And before anyone claims it's just because I'm a Republican or something, I hold no party allegiance and in fact voted Libertarian last election. Moral of the story: when you start alienating potential sympathizers, it's time to stop acting obnoxious.)

To put this back on topic ... I really want a Papagayo, but if that kind of thing is prolific I'd rather not have one in a public setting. I'd prefer my parrot to be a source of comedy and not one of irritation because some (funk)wads felt they had to use my bird as a billboard.

That kind of defeats the purpose as I would've wanted to've had a bird ramble incoherently in my shop--I don't suppose the birds can be set not to pick up new lines after they pick up a few? Kind of like a "recieve" or "broadcast only" mode?

Can't do that with real parrots though, so I'm betting not. Darn. Guess I shoulda realized that people would turn those birds into living YouTube comments.

Well my bird hasn't picked up any "anti president" sentences so I don't know if it's prolific or if MSAksian has some interesting friends.

I agree, I'm sick of hearing about the president- especially from a bunch of kids that really don't know anything about politics anyway, and just repeat what they hear. Oh, I'm not PRO bush, I'm an army wife so of course I hate him. But I save it for my blog and make my myspace friends read it, lol.

At first I thought the bird was a waste of 10 coins, but I'm actually really entertained by him. I go in to check on my shop and the first thing he says is "Save me!" (didn't feel like pulling out the keyboard to train him lol). I didn't know you could make him shout though, I have to try that! Oh, and think bubble him too. People, when I get my bird and you visit my shop, if you're going to say something, please make it funny. Or at least creative. And I don't care if its naughty. But at least be a little bit more creative.

I suppose you could just chalk it up to another player's jealousy that you got the cool parrot and they didn't. Hell, the first things I might teach my bird to say before letting it loose are, "You're jealous of me."

Edit: After reading some of the other posts, its a shame you couldn't select some of the phrases your bird picks up and delete the rest, sort of a personal filter for what your bird says. Because while this bird is going to be very fun and very entertaining, I'm sure its going to get annoying as well with people putting in stupid spam.

And one last word about people who spam politics in video games *slight rant ahead*...if a political situation bothers you so damn much, turn off the game, get off you a** and go out and do something about it, instead of just complaining about it and doing nothing, except passing your time in a video game.
