If you want to, yes! You can take your time to Just Attack enemies for critical hits as well now. Only the people who don't know how to Just Attack will be button mashing.

Elaborate just attack. Is it the system PSO used where you time pressing the attack button?

For just attack you have to wait long enough until doing the next combo, so it's slower than mashing.

Edit: yes, you have to push the button at the right time too.

No, Just Attack is different. PSO's system stopped your attacks completely if you didn't time it right. PSU's system lets you keep attacking weather you screw up or not. It's easy to pull off on some weapons

Your first attack is always a regular attack (unless your countering an attack), from there you just need to hit the attack button right before your attack animation finishes. If you do it right a Gold circle appears around your character, you'll deal a critical hit, and it'll make the Hard attack sound from PSO

I think that sums it up.

Good enough for me. I've played over 350 hours of PSU and button mashing really gets repetitive

Sort of but not really. It's a series of timed button presses which can link 5 critical hits in a row.. This is all covered in the sticky I believe. http://pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=148743&forum=20&1649

Just attack takes button mashing to a minimum. unleast you want to then knock yourself out.

You don't have to Just Attack, but you can for LOLMAXIMUMDAMAGE.

But really, it's not as hard as it sounds.
