View Full Version : Vanilla players and AOI players... I have questions

I had read that non AOI players can't enter rooms with AOI items, so I left my shop in the 4th character untouched to let them enter...
Today a friend of mine played after a long time, then he said he was going to give me his money and goods, but we couldn't trade, then I asked him to go to my 4th character's room but he was not able to enter... So I want to know why, I only had a techMAG stored in that room, if they can not enter then I don't have any reason to not remodel that room

The only way I can think of for him to give you his stuff would be to enter a mission together and have him drop all of it.
Considering that as soon as you log in with the expansion you can no longer trade with "vanilla" players anymore.

And what about the shop? I feel stupid for caring about non expansion players and having that ugly room http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif
We will try the mission dropping method later

The room belongs to an expansion character and is therefore inaccessable, regardless of the decorations and whatnot.
It's sad, but that's how Sega decided to make it. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Are you absolute positive about this? I left my shop with the old roomticket, to let ppl enter -_-

I have a room with the old ticket as well, and my friend that still plays "vanilla" can't enter, so I'm sure of it.

My friend quit and didn't have the expansion. He couldn't enter my room and couldnt trade with me so we went into a mission and he dropped all his stuff http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

I'm EU PS2 PSU vanilla(who named it that lol)
I can access about 5-10% of AOI shops, from what i understand , New AOI room mods or new AOI decos ina player's room/shop mean us PSU ppl can't enter your it.
If you only have AOI items on sale, in your shop, we should be able to enter your room! I've seen a few AOI items for sale, they show up as dark grey, unselectable and no info is given about the item.
Us PSU ppl can actually buy a load of AOI contents things off you lucky AOI people, if we could get in your rooms e.g S rank grinders(as we dont have them) Walker lines,freeze/ resist or confuse,etc.... as these kinda bits are in our PSU data!
If you have a character with still no AOI room upgrade that you have'nt touched since PSU Vanilla, we should be able to enter it!
And yes the no trade between the 2 versions sux. Actually not having AOI sux more http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif
**Edit** Also AOI music disc's playing in your shop, might make it unaccessable for us too, i don't know as i play with sound off!

This is a pretty annoying quirk. Being able to use the condition search, find a few nice items for sale and then not being able to buy them is soooo frustrating. And the PC AOTI pack isn't realised in the UK until 11/01/08... when everyone else will have already got bored of it, lol.

Yeah! i 100% agree with you, Our drop rate isnt as good as AOI version either =( we are missing out on soo many items to synth.
The main prob i had since AOI went live on PS2/PC is
http://boards2.sega.com/psu_board/viewtopic.php?t=59428
All i can do is synth at the mo. and at a very slow speed because of slow loading times, grrrr. Also add the can't enter players shops to buy cheaper synth bits, because AOI,lol
Running missions is unplayable =(

Now that's good news! Also, you can't put AoI decos in an "old" roomticket room apparently. They also don't allow welcome messages or changing the music.
So my "berry red" room/shop should be save!

I didn't have any AOI decoration or item for sale, but my friend still was not able to enter my room :

No not this time. Unlike last year, we're actually not having to wait a full month for updates. Thats where the first quittings started >_>. It'll be pretty active from here on out.
