I know a bunch of topics have been already made concerning this... But I guess I had to ask myself. I played PSU around launch, didnt get too far (around level 50), and quit because I felt the game was too repetitive.

Anywho, I was on youtube and I saw a bunch of videos of the new expansion, and I think I saw MAGs, old PSO bosses, old PSO levels... Whats up with that?

I guess I want to know what the xpac added, and how much the game has improved since last year... Please note I play on PC.

Thanks~

Oh, there's way too much to list. PSU at launch and PSU AOI are entirely different beasts. You have the entirety of PSU online with ALL of its free missions and Episode 2 Story Missions. On top of this, you have many gameplay changes such as Just Attack and Just Counter, the new meseta system, new shop search and so on.

And then there's the expansion exclusive stuff like the Volyale Casino, which rocks. The new missions, the new weapon types (The 'Mags' you saw are actually Madoogs/Shadoogs; special one-handed weapons), new bosses (such as De Rol Le) and more being added as it comes.

Uh, except the PSO levels. We don't have that stuff right now. Still, though. It's a gigantic change from back then.

Just come back for a bit and see if you like it. It's not a big deal.

Meh. It's the same ol' game. There are some flashy new bits to it, but mindless tapping "X" and "Y" is still the core of the experience. After purchasing and playing a bit of AotI, I realized Sega wasn't taking this game anywhere and promptly canceled my subscription.

It's not worth coming back. The reasons you left before are still there. Trust me.

Just Attack and Just Counter? What are they exactly? (or can you link me to something that explains them http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif)

I would just come back to see, but thats ten dollars right there http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Sucks that I pretty much forgot everything about the game, now I have to get familiar with the old and new x_x

Elley has a point, however. If you did not like the "repetitiveness" of PSU beforehand, it's still the same game, just with some new mechanics and new stages.

I bet you never played PSO, lol.

& you're probably right elley, but I'm at the point of extreme boredom and I feel like playing an mmo right now... x_x

I have actually, since DC... but PSO is different... It was more epic, cooler bosses, cooler weapons, better music, it was easier to meet people... and for some reason I didn't mind the repetitiveness as much as in PSU.

so lol@uback?

For old games like that, though, nostalgia adds a lot of points. Like me and Ragnarok Online.
