You can recieve it from failed synths.. Thats it I think.

By failing ANY stuff or high ranking stuff?

If its any, then I'm gonna synth all my cheap crap and hope one pops out.

Both are made from failed synths. I have successfully made multiples of gnomes and mimic dolls by failing range mags (gnomes) and tech mags (mimic) The mimic requires failing a pegi 7* or pegita 8* which is more expensive. gnomes can come from range mag failures 4* or 5* which is cheap to try. My best advice for gnomes is to synth on a mag with zero range for the lowest chance and just be patient. The materials are super common and/or cheap as well as the boards. The new parum missions drop the boards with great frequency. Hope that is helpful

I got a Gnome from failing a Doric as well.
