Because it's also a German letter, I think it makes an s sound, but I'm not completely sure, I can't say I've quite gotten around to studying my book yet. >.>;

Scharfes S is not 'beta'. And what the hell do sections have to do with anything? Also, is there any particular reason Greek gets a capital g but German doesn't? Some sort of Hellenic Superiority complex?
