View Full Version : Monster (s-video) cables might be worth it

For computer tuners anyway. If you're using a TV as a display, then you can stick with what you have as it might not make a difference if you decided to upgrade from another S-Video cable.

Now for a further comparison. I bought the monster cables in hopes that some distortions would be eliminated. I think my video tuner is partially at fault, though.

Here's an example of the distortion that I was talking about. Vertical strips of slightly discolored areas that run up the entire display in darker areas over a fixed interval.

Here's the same image only made brighter and sharper if you had problems spotting the distortions the first time.

It's an AverTV card, but you should be aware that the majority of modern TV tuners use the same video decoding chipset from Conextant.

The TV card processes the signal through your video card too right(obviously), but what kinda video card you have?
