I have finally saved up $350 to buy an Xbox, pso game, and an Xbow live kit(when pso comes out for Xbox of course). I would have never even thought of buying Xbox if it wasn't for PSO. Well anyways, I am starting to think that I shouldn't buy it and just stick with PSO for GC. The problem is that my brothers the one who owns the GC and PSO at our house so he's always playing it nonstop. I even have to ask him to play it, it's so stupid.

So what's your guy's opinions. Do you think I should buy Xbox when PSO comes out for it?

the only thing i think gc will have over xbox is the community, gamecube came out way before so most people jumped from DC to it and there will be many fewer Jp players on Xbox. If you can get past that the xbox version will probably have a few things over gamecube, such as the voice communication which from what i hear is pretty sweet coming from the people on this site who have xbox live.

Edit:oops forgot, i'm on gcn PSO and think that its just fine, i'd suggest you get it but if you can wait for xbox you may enjoy it even more, really cant tell til' the game comes out anyway.

If you have BroadBand, and don't have any major objections to voice chat, then I would recommend you get the XBOX version.

Also, if you plan on having more than four characters, you may want to know that the XBOX can hold up to twelve on the built-in Harddrive, and the GCN can hold four per memory card.

Plus, if you get the XBOX version, and you can also play the GCN version, you can play with *everyone*. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

If you're still in school (meaning high school or less) I'd start saving up money in case your parents spend your money (like they did to me) for college or something rather than spending that much unless you got a steady part time job.

Thanks for the info Kalbelgarion. Being able to hold 12 characters rather than 4 is awesome. I won't need to buy a bunch of memory cards to start more characters. That's a big improvement over the GC version of PSO.

I'm curious about that, how does the offline multiplayer work?? If you want to play with a friend what do you do?

That's why XBox also has memory cards. But it has really really tiny storage. Heck, I'm beginning to wonder if that thing can even hold a PSO char!

xbox mem card has an 8 MB capacity, so its big enough.

first poster: get your own stuff, and since your sibling has a cube, migt as well get an xbox for yourself...

xbox memcard: like previously said, the xbox memcard is 8MB... it has 503 blocks... each 'block' is twice the size (16KB) versus nintendo memcard blocks (8KB)... so saves should in theory take up half the blocks... and it wouldn't need an ISP settings file... but this is all facts mixed with theory...

Plus, you shouldn't need $350. You can get the system with Sega GT and JSRF in a bundle for $200, then spend $50 or whatever when pso-xbox is released.

So the game is going to let you copy your character data onto a memory card?? Or are you going to have to make the character on the memory card originally to be able to bring it around? Being as your not supposed to be allowed to copy PSO data for obvious reasons.

I'm also planning to buy the Xbox live kit along with the Xbox and pso game, so it's going to be $300. Add tax to that and it will probably be around $320. I might just buy a memory card with the cash I'll have left over from it.

Remember, you'll need a credit card to get on xbox live...

Which reminds me, be careful about cheating, because you can be tracked by the user feedback system and your credit card number!!!! doh.

XBox PSO = GC PSO.

Go figure. You're on your own.

you know i do agree with you to some aspect Raist, but Xbox has more sales than GameCube and almost every single one of my friends has an Xbox with Xbox live, they only play soprts games though because thyre are big beefed football players pipi. However i'm begining to see a big rise in Xbox's community in other gonilne games. PSO XB may very well become at least 60% of the community we have on GC. I'm judging this on the sales and from wht i've heard around places. Yet i know GameCube wil have a larger community, but if mS is smart they will have a LEGIT community kjbasdk =3

also note: i find many ppl around here saying they probably are siwtching to xb if it's community doesn't have hacking problems (which u know it will). not really on the boards but online.

Yeah, I was thinking about just buying a GC and pso ep.1&2 but I changed my mind. It would be pretty weird having two Gamecubes and two pso games in one house. Kind of a waste of money. You know what I mean?

Not only that your kinda broadening your gaming horizion, something you like comes out on Xbox you can check it out. And the same to be said about GC.

More options is not a bad thing IMO.

I wouldn't bother with the memory card. Get yourself an original Xbox controller with the extra money, it's so damn hard to hit the Black, White, Start, and Back buttons without hurting yourself sometimes. Not to mention the fact that the original controller is nice and big, not obscenely small.

I have the GCN one now but a lack of a US Keyboard bothers me. I own and XBOX and have Live already. I prebooked the XBOX one at my local EB. Its only 39.99 plus there is no monthly fees. The only fee is when you download a quest.
