with people overpricing the crap out of Catilium in the shops whats the best place to start looking for them?

Play with 2 friends and check all the boxes. The ones that drop Soldonium and Stelnium will eventually drop Catilium.

Since we got the 1UP Cup rewards and people have begun to mass synth, Catilium has been a very very very popular buy.
Laws of the market have applied and prices have risen.

If you want to hunt some, I hear Agata Relics is a good place to go. Go after the boxes.

I have the same problem with Gaozoran Rod (material) which have been really overpriced for a long time (at least 8-10millions a piece).

I find the polymer crisis far worse than the catilium crisis.
They doesn't drop more than catilium, but you need 20 per armor while you only need two Catiliums per weapon. >_>

I have heard failing slicer boards is a somewhat good way to get catilium.

Failing slicer boards gives you Cladorian not Catilium.

No...I failed synthing a Fuma-Hiken and received a Catilium. It was the first failed synth I was actually happy with!

Use El-Photons + other synth mats on any PM other than striking.

They can give both cladorian and catilium.. you can get both from either 1-hand or 2-hand striking

Yup, failing boards seems easier than hunting the damn material.

Failing an arb biso can give you catilium, and daggers can give petanite. It's completely random so don't get your hopes up the failing process. But if you insist, go with 8* weapon boards.

Fail A-rank striking weapons (put them in either level 0 bots or bots with a different specialty, and use im-photons) for an okay chance at getting Catilium. :] I've gotten two Catilliums so far from just failing accidentally. I'm sure eventually, intentionally failing will get you something nice. xP (Or if you use regular photons, you'll come out with a decent 40-50% item.)

true but not for 11* stars which cost 4 catilium but ur right though the polymer crisis is worse

I found a couple of Catilium yesterday in Sleeping Warriors S2 while attempting to level Killer Shot (gawd I don't know how you people do it)!

The materials you get back for failing synthesis depend on what manufacturer the board was from. Tenora boards tend to give striking materials back like Cladorian and Catilium, where as GRM boards are more likely to give you back Petanites and Hapotites.

Failing synthesis isn't going to help much really, if you want Catilium, leave the hotspot and get out to Holy Grounds S2. Otherwise instead of wasting money by buying stupidly priced Catilium, you're gonna be wasting money on mats to synth, so which will it be?

Free Catilium? Or wasted money?

Honestly the only way I could ever recommend failing as a way to get Catiliim, is if the person is under the level requirement for Holy Grounds S2 (70), I'm not talking level 68 either, I'm talking like level 40-ish.

I got Catilium from failing an Arb Piso.

It was my only synth in there, pulled it out, and got a Catilium.

Costs me less then 100k per 8* weapon. 1mil+ for Catilium or a chance at it for 100k, hmmm.

Not to mention you can multi task while It's synthing.

If you happen to be at Dual Sentinal S2 there is a trick to at least getting a couple. If you start with the small room and go just past the first set of doors and then turn right there are two pillars that can be broken. I got two Catiliums in ten tries and one Cladorian. The first spawn is an easy kill too.
