New York Animu Festival(lots of stuff)

So that was where I was this Saturday. Definitley pretty awesome to see. I was excited about going this year since New York hasn't hosted any type of anime convention since 2003. I forced my dad to take me to it that year since I was too young to go by myself. The others were canceled due to the Republican Convention of 2004 and because it cost too much to host an event in New York.


There was a Guilty Gear tournament that was really great. Some nice come from behind victories. Wish it dawned on me to record them ;(. I remember Diz saying there are cute girls there. That actually is true. Though alot of them have cat ears on. If they don't have cat ears, then they are dressed in Goth Lolita fashion. Or you get those that have both. Never been to an animu convention myself.
I've been contemplating going to one for a little bit, but the Animu convention in Atlanta has already past if I'm not mistaken.
I'd only go for the hot chicks, and I sure as hell wouldn't cosplay.

Unfortunately I don't live in New York >.> but I do go to cons every now and then when they choose NOT to suck. Mostly I go there for the hot girls, unfortunately to many weeaboo J-rocker/pop/emo kids show up also... you know cause J-rock is awesome >.>

Not really interested in them since most people only do "Mainstream" animes, you know stuff that 4kids blantanly slaughters into high pitched squeally kid shows... So pretty much you will see more Narutards than you can shake a stick at, all running around screaming "Believe it"

Then there are the stoners who go to these things for no reason at all except to get high with new people... which again annoys you when having to ride the elevator for 30 minutes with these bastards you end up with a damn contact buzz

Then come the fanboys/girls... These people are remotely O.K. if you have a Gas mask on hand, these people wreak worse than french people on a summer day, toss them a bar or soap and move along

Otakon THE largest Convention in the US... could always go to meet the Little Gamers (http://www.little-gamers.com) and others web comic creators

Also the easy and cheap Cosplay is going as a Sim, just a coat hanger, some wire, and colored Cardboard/paper and done

only conventions I've been to are small local ones with around 50 people. Cosplay tourny though for those who want to enter. One guy came as black mage from 8-bit theatre, guy got my vote. He wound up tying with this dorky looking guy with a way to accurate sesshomaru. Seriously, the costume looks great, then you look at the guys face. Coke bottle glasses and red freckles, classic stereotype grade-A nerd. Only thing he was missing was the tape. Anyways, they recasted the vote with just black mage and sesshomaru and sesshomaru won, damnit.

There actually was two women like this. Though one had a belly shirt on, and the other was in a rabbit costume.

Thick chicks do look nice as long as they don't try to wear revealing clothes.
