A test mission for use by a GM was left on the live servers open to the public. It tested rare monster drop rates.People spamed it to death and expected no reprocusion sega TRIED to remove items one by one but alas just was too much to hand pick so they are rolling back to before maitence.

so then we WILL be losing something... the coin for today from the casino. Don't you wish they automatically deposited a coin every day instead of having to go get it?

@aries there was a mission after the update that had all rare monsters- accidentally available to everyone, it was fun fun fun but now they are deciding if they will roll back the servers to when it came back up after the update or try to extricate the data from the accidental mission. That's the short version.

Pentance- you really have your own opinion about this don't you? Does it matter to you that it is most likely wrong? Do you honestly think that the biggest problem is that people got too many items from the run?

One of the testing maps was relesed to the public, resulting in non-stop spawning Rappy and Jago's. They were constantly dropping rare items including the 10* Dagger of Serafi board and a / Bullet PP Save Unit

There was a mission on the 4th floor under dark satellite. Enemy test mission or something. It spawned rappy noels, jaos and darbelan over and over again. It dropped everything you get from these rare creatures including the dagger of serafi board.

No thats not quite the main problem perhapes i should reword that a bit.The problem is primarily that the level is there so they removed it but then it also had items that in some cases should not be able to drop yet.The huge amount of said items is the addition and main cause of a plausable rollback instead of picking out the items individualy.

Also if it is my opinion ,how is it possible to be wrong?Opinions are feelings more so than facts so it is impossible to have a wrong opinion.

damn it I wanted to check out my psycho wand's new tricks before I went to work. ah well. the game isn't going anywhere. if its down for very long, expect another week of rewards http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif or something hopefully better, like sega letting us keep all the rares we got from all those monsters. even though that would really suck for the people that didnt get a chance to check out the bugged mission, like myself.

The funny thing is it happened to both 360 and pc/ps2. You'd think with a mistake like this only one of the servers would have it not both.

Consider this, people may or may not lose some items depending on how accurate ST data logs are. Keep in mind they have log records where PC's go and what they find etc... Let's just try to have a little faith in the programmers from ST, they're only human after all. I don't want them to rush this maintenance because to remove the non legit items they will have to deal with account data most likely and that's not sometime I personally want messed up or corrupted.

Yea, that kinda suprised me as well. I guess that proves that there are GM's/play testers who work for BOTH servers.

You bring up a good point. This was both servers. Interesting...

But how sure are people about an absolute rollback? on the official site they said that the rollback was there last resort. How do we know that they're using that last resort as we speak?

Btw, I was asleep the entire time this was going on so what time was it roughly that they decided to shut down the servers to remove the debug mission? I'd like to know so I have some idea of how long it might take before the servers are up and running again.

You have me there...

But when you present your opinion as fact then you bring yourself open to people saying you're wrong...

... how's that?

It depends on what they do, if they decide to just remove the items people have gotten from that mission then it will take while but if they rollback the data till right after the maintace it shouldest take as long.

Been at work all day. Interesting that happened. What's even more interesting the people that think sega should do nothing to fix the damage. Bottom line....people were basically exploiting the game to get ahead.

My feelings exactly. Same stuff happened in another MMO I played. Seemed the only time there were problems or extended down times were always on my day off.

Did anyone else notice that the JP XBox 360 (http://64.233.179.104/translate_c?hl=en&langpair=ja%7Cen&u=http://xbox360.phantasystaruniverse.jp/news/wis/%3Fmode%3Dview%26id%3D127) is having emergency maintenance, too?

I call shenanigans.

P.S., Their site says December 15th, but remember they're 14 hours ahead, so that puts their maintenance at 12:45 EST today.
