I'm on my second playthrough with PSU's offline Story Mode and I'm loving the enhancements from November 20th's update. We have the #/# grinding system, just attacks, and the small map now. I'm grinding my "Real" series weapons and I'm totally loving them not breaking when I fail a synth. It's also really easy to beat bosses now. I beat Adahna Degahna in 56 seconds using a C-rank sword with PA just attacks. So, it's pretty much easy to S rank every trial and get the full rewards.

I like it... You mean people prefer losing a weapon if they fail?

@Yusaku_Kudou: so is the story mission actually more fun with the updates? Because I'm missing like- 800 gamer points, but I beat it once on ps2 and didn't enjoy it enough to play through it again on my 360...

That guy Thanubis said something about how Yusaku "is the first person who actually likes this shitty new grind system."
Then quickly edited his post.

Well I don't like permanantly losing weapons and the just system makes PSU less brain-dead-like. Yeah I like it. Ah right, I almost forgot to mention we have AOTI-style money drops and EXP now too. I was getting 525 EXP and 1200 meseta for killing Komatoze.

Now to see if I can get to LV100+ and Ranger LV10+... My Ethan's only level 35 right now, but it's so easy to level up post-update I might just go level grinding on Ethan today.

Once I realized that he wasn't playing AoI I realized that the statement I made no longer applied to him so I changed it. Sorry for any confusion I caused.

seems like the grind system for ep 1 is the same as online now though, so your post probably still applied.

The only update that does anything for the 360's story mode is Just Attack. If you wanna grind, save before each grind. Tedious, but worlds more effective than the new system. The new grinding system is only good for online play.

I'd rather not waste hours a day saving before each grind, really.

Is it worth grinding weapons offline, though? From what I've played, everything dies so quickly I can't see why having a 10/10 weapon would be a benefit.

Yep, mostly for PP. Although my Tengoh Bow has 509 attack and 402 PP. Very nice if you ask me. Most of the guns offline have TERRIBLE amounts of PP.

I just noticed that when you walk up to the Communion of Gurhan temple on Neudaiz in the city, it says "Communion of Gurhal Pavilion of Air" in the same format as if it would let you through. The camera even distances back signaling me like I'm about to go to the counter, except the door is closed shut. I wonder if there's anything like the Club door glitch... as I'd be interested to see if this took me anywhere or just froze.

So the updates work with the offline story mode? If so then Im gonna beat Ch12 finally....

Yeah, you just can't see the Just system graphics and it doesn't regain PP, but the on-screen buttons show when you hit the JA successfully.

The Adahna Degahna is also giving me 5100+ EXP on the Grove of Fanatics run offline. Freaking insane and that mission takes less than 10 minutes to beat leveling low-level laser PAs.
