What does this contraption do and if anybody knows, what can i put in and get something out of?

You throw stuff in it and it randomly gives you things back.

So far I've only recieved a picture of Mirei (<3)
and one of those Mikumiko Futuristic Temple Priestess sets.

the higher the value it would sell to an npc the more likely you are to get somethin, so far i've gotten the merei picture, the red/pink mikumiko outfit and the cas-miko outfit, dunno if there is more yet, but there will be more eventually

ummmmmm.... it does depend on which version u have.... for instance for xbox 360 it is completely and utterly un true as for the other systems i couldn't tell u... my geuss is to use an s rank u have alot of such as song of death but if ur worried dont do it.... hope iv helped ya in ya travels,
