hey what does that do? I thought it was to follow a targeted player but it doesnt seem to work that way.

it also turns that party member's status bar gold.

I think you have to hit D-pad Left to actually start the auto-follow.

so what does the d-pad up Rainbow Beam do?

also I seem to sometimes trigger auto-run but forgot how to use it.

I think it's auto-follow but I'm not entirely sure.

Bingo. Hit "up" repeatedly to cycle through the members in your party. When the member you want to follow is selected, hit "left" to start following them.

Hitting "left" on the D-pad initiates auto-run. Cycle through all party members by hitting "up" until the desired member is highlighted, then hit left to auto-follow that party member.

Experiment with it for 23 seconds and you'll figure it out.

It's pretty good to use, especially if you are lagged and you don't want to fall very far behind the party. That is, you slow way down from everybody else because your inputs aren't getting read through the net, fast enough. However, auto follow helps you keep up with the team, during travel.

I use it to AFK through entire blocks without party members noticing. Auto follow the healer in the party with a shadoog/R-Mag equipped and noone realizes that I'm gone.

LOL!! that would be madness if auto-follow even works between blocks.

It doesn't. They have to be relatively close to you, also, to get the targeting to work.

A friend of mine does that to me all the time so he can "go get a sandwich", which usually ends up with him falling asleep somewhere between going afk and getting the sandwich... Usually I just find a wall to get him stuck on and ditch him in a random spot for a laugh...

The last time he did this we both ended up dead... which is what usually happens when I charge head-on into a group of Olgohmons with my Okanoh out lol.. XD
