I just got DCed, as did my whole party and several people I know. Can't get back on either, nor do the official boards/homepage work.

Anyone able to get on?

Just saw the forums, and looked at PSU. Sure enough, a disconnect message.

I was able to get back on just fine, though.

Nah, it's a PSU-wide crash. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Yeah, it's happened three times to me already. Sega really hates us. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

The way this is happening, I can't help but wonder if Sega's servers are getting hit with a DDoS or something.

happened twice to me. This has been a problem since AOTI came out. These servers are really unstable. Slowdown(lag),Freezing,Glitches,D/C. I miss anything?

This certainly would prove my theory about hax coming back after Dec. 10th...

Or it could just prove to me that Sega hates us and we pay monthly so they can continue their expensive coke addiction they got when the Sega Genesis was so popular. Instead of spending the time to make sure the game is at tip top shape.

PSU has the highest uptime ratio of any online RPG I've ever played. Give 'em some credit.

I want to know what you're playing. FFXI is rarely ever down. WoW is usually only down once a week. I get more disconnects on PSU then I get on those two. I also use my 360 for FFXI.

If I didn't already know that people like you are quite serious when they say this kind of crap, I'd have pleaded to know whether or not you were joking.

That depends. DDoS isn't the same as roomhacking/etc, but it still does affect us as a player base.

It's really bad for the devs because their player base tends to blame THEM for the hackers' DDoS, claiming intentional malice as the reason why the company somehow doesn't want its paying customers to use its service!

AGH. BRAIN. HURTS. *BoSD's*

That's just not true. Until three weeks I played WoW for 2 years. There was tons of downtime in WoW.

Server Restarts...

Random lag spikes

In the first year there were frequent roll backs

Maintenance on patch day can last 8-12 hours

Once a patch comes out in WoW there's a very good chance it borks one (or more) things up so much they have to do an emergency hot-fix

Not saying WoW is garbage, its not, but PSU is far more reliable in terms of staying up and running smoothly than WoW was/is. For the record I played on Aerie Peak and Thrall.

You do have a point. I played on Skullcrusher, but still FFXI still has the best uptime of any MMO I've ever played. The only time I've seen it go down is for serve maintenance and that doesn't happen all that often anyway. FFXI is probably the most stable.

Man, I haven't played FFXI since... well, its been a long time. I imported it and then I played, briefly, after it released in NA. I do remember it was very stable, now that you mention it.
