I was playing around Ultimate tonight with a friend getting my butt kicked as usual. During the spare time I have when I die, I thought about how pointless this was. I mean, I was checking this one guy's list of rare weps, and realizing that I have one of the strongest weapons in the game, a Black King Bar. I myself live for two things on PSO: getting to the next difficutly level and getting a better weapon. I look at all these cool weapons and think about how much I suck compared to them, even though I have a strong one myself. I think about what kinda of obsession they must have to go out and spend hours doing tp tricks so they can find a dumb monster thats a little stronger and colored different which will *hopefully* drop a good weapon, and realized how pointless this whole game was. If you've beaten Normal, you've beaten everything.

So, I won't be playing PSO for a while online anymore. If I feel the urge again, I might just decide to plug in that new phone jack Dad made and see how much more ground I've lost compared to my friends. I will still be around PSOW and PSOtakus, but I won't actually be playing the game. Chaio, and have a good time without me.

hmmm, so what magic pill did you use to break free of the addiction, i mean we all know the game is horribly repetitive, its just for most of us we can't stop!!

Just a quick question. Did you play PSO on the DC? If so, did you expect the GC version to be any different? I'm sorry you feel the way you do about PSO but really, this game is all about being online and meeting and playing with real people around the world. Leveling and finding a powerful weapon is just a small part of the total experience. But if you really feel that way, then it's your right. PSO is not for everyone.

I myself wonder how much longer I'll be playing PSO. I love it very much, but eventualy I might want to change my attention to another MMORGP, one with more depth. I'll still write my fics, and I'll only stop once I've beaten both Ult modes.

I know how this feels.

If there wasn't Neverwinter Nights to fall back on, I'd probrably go insane.

Hey, I've been in and out of PSO since it was released on DC...but I never get rid of it, because I know that if I get sick of it, a month or two later I will have formed another obsession with the game. Now there are these cool new weps and stuff on GC, so that oughta keep me busy. And besides, you could always go on and just chat with people.

"I myself live for two things on PSO: getting to the next difficutly level and getting a better weapon."

Play vhard quests with a cool weapon, you still get exp. fight the urge to level up *fast* its all about having fun.

Oi... Another one falls victim to the evil force known as "thinking"....

In my opinion, if you think too hard, everything becomes pointless... Anyhoo, just play to have fun, and if you're not having fun (Which sounds like the problem your having) then quit the game for a while, then if you want to, come back later (Works for me)

Yeah, that's what I'm doing. there wouldn't really be much to talk about except PSO(and we wouldn't want to talk intellectually because we don't have keyboards yet). And like Davion said, I would rather spend my money on a new MMO and have a little variety. My Dad is paranoid about putting our credit card number on the internet, and I can't come up with the money to buy $40 game cards for a $10 or $20 game. That's why we pretty much can online do one online thing at a time, and I wanna see what else is out there, so I'm leaving for a while.

there are times when i think i shouldnt buy ep.1&2 because all the time it eats away... (mah, 1600 hours gone allready, should i really ? again 1600 hours? i mean i should concentrate on study... friends... relationship a bit more...) -_-;
but then i hit my head against a wall several times, appologise to my dreamcast and my lonely asciiboard and try to think about the fun hours that will continue with meeting up with my online-friends and start again once more ^_^

yay! march 7th, thou may arrive!

Raven, first off,
you stated you have a black king bar. That tells me right there that you have a dupe... which leads me to believe that you use a lot more dupes than just that..
I'm not passing judgement or anything ( I don't care if people dupe, or use dupes, whatever! just a game), but I want to make a small point.

You say you play to get better weapons... well, using dupes negates that whole goal.
This is why I don't use dupes ( I used to, in ver2).
It does ruin the game ( for some people anyway).
My best weapon right now, is a 50hit Repeater.
The extra ATA boost for my HUcast is great in ult, I never miss, and I do more damage than most lvl 160's thanks to my Master System with 195 Pow ( I raised myself).

I'm going off on a tangent here, but what I'm trying to say is, well... if you're getting bored, then quit.
If you're getting bored but still want to play, then get rid of all your dupes (yes even that precious god/battle, the most widespread duped item) and just give playing legit a chance.
You'll start to run around going after Orange boxes hoping to find 50-60% photon efficiencies.
Then when you do find a decent rare (like my Twin Brand) you will definitely appreciate it more.

Hmmm... long post, ok I'll end it...

Why do you automatically assume it's a dupe? Just because he has a BKB doesn't mean it's a dupe. He could have gotten it legitly. Ya know there are legit ones out there, you can't duplicate something you don't have, now can you?
