It's still no-where near perfect, but... I am very slowly getting better =)

Any constructive criticism would be nice! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I know the hair is a bit dodgy, but I haven't really practiced hair yet. I'll have to look up some guides or something...

the hair near her ear is kinda bulging out. other than that it is nice.

Yeah, the hair at the back most so feels so gigantic, and at the angle she is staring at us does not seem necessary.

Yeah, it is rather large... I'll look into hair another time.
She is staring, isn't she? I never noticed that before... http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

I mean, the angle of her head.

Oh, right. I guess you're right, but I've still got a lot to learn.
Thanks =)

At the same time, hair is one of the least important aspects to work with, the facial structure should come first. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Yeah, I was supposed to ask about that. Was the facial structure any good, i.e. should I continue drawing faces like that?

well the hair make the ear kind of seem out of proportion.
but the nose is good.

Yeah, the structure is pretty accurate. Pretty good stylization too.

If only I could use it consistently...

Hmm... Technically its not that bad.
[spoiler-box]http://free.yosemite.net/~jtaber/images/asombreqn1.gif[/spoiler-box]
When I took a closer look at it the main things that I thought needed work (besides the hair that everyone else mention) was that the shoulders were at an odd angle not the head. The head is your standard front view. And it looks quite well proportioned, Although I'm not a big fan of having one eye covered its not bad in this pic. But the shoulders are slightly different lengths and without any lines for the collar bone we're left to guess at what posture she is in. But for the most part its not a big deal.

Now however if you cut back on the hair, a LOT of the perspective illusions that make people think something is wrong with the face/head pretty much go away. I tried my best to get the hair style that you were going for, rather lanky an a little unkempt.

And at this point I thought I'd go ahead an finish inking this for you. Keep in mind all I did was change the hair an add more detail to the shoulders an collar, the majority of the picture has only been inked. And in the process I noticed a rather interesting pattern in the eye.I'm not sure what it is supposed to be but I tried to preserve it as well as I could.

That's very, very useful.
And very, very good too http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
In my opinion, the hair doesn't seem... big enough at the top left part. But hey, that's just an opinion.

Big hair is good... *drool*

Well, this is a very interesting piece. And yeah, to me the hair in Jared_T's version just doesn't seem to be big enough at the top left part.
It's true, that your original image had a bit too much hair but beside this, your basic skills aren't that bad *reminds me on how I startet* http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
I like the way you've drawn that eye. Looks good to me.
