What platform will you be playing on? If you're on the 360, I could walk you around and give tips and a few items to get you started.

Otherwise, go the Guides and Walkthroughs forum and check out the beginners guides they have there.

Don't beg for anything. Take what is given to you, but never beg.

I don't beg, no reason. If I really want it I can earn it. No reason to resort to such mockery. x]

Mudkip, I'm on my dad's laptop 1249 miles away from my xbox (Christmas holiday.....>_<) and I won't be back until Saturday. If you get it by then, then it should be all good.

My gamertag is NukeLaser so send me a friend request so I don't forget about it on my 22.4 hour car trip back home......

I have some tips for you. Don't join random parties that are more than 10-15 minutes into the mission, odds are you will be booted, and would have just wasted your time. When buying stuff check NPC prices first, though the problem doesn't seem as bad as before. And finally, if you use a mic, turn it off when there are long periods of no talking, the feedback can be pretty bad for other people even if you can't hear it. If you want, just send a message to my Gamertag (located in my profile) when you get the game.
And BTW, are you getting the expansion, or just v.1?

Well, first things first, thanks for the tips on the game, second off, I'm getting the v.1 to start off.

I have a tip : Get the expansion. It's exactly 12834908327 times better than the original.

Also, my GT's Rainu. If you're ever on and need a hand, gimme a call.

I just downloaded the PSU demo and I'm currently trying to figure out how everything works... I'm in Universe 29 running through the first mission, Unsafe Passage. I was wondering if anyone has any tips or anything on the gameplay? I'm buying PSU this weekend and was using the demo to see how it was.

Also, any chance anyone wants to meet up to help a noob out? My gamertag is GobTheGnomeKing and the character I'm usig in "ZeBigCheese"...

EDIT: I'm in Universe 2 now..

The demo in no way reflects the gameplay in the current version of PSU. It's basically like playing a really dumbed down version.

Aside from running all of the tutorials, not biting off more than you can chew in missions and playing for fun, there isn't much else to really take into consideration.

Saying things like behaving differently while in team play is different though. What I may find to be fine may be completely wrong or absurd to you and vice versa. Play whichever class/job you like the weapon selection of and that's it really, the game's not too easy and not too hard that you'll have a difficult time in every single mission but it'll be less/more apparent depending on which mission you undertake.

Have fun and welcome to the community!

There is much to know in this game -- be patient!

One of the most important things is to have is someone that knows the ins and outs. There is a LOT about this game that no one will bother to tell you, and will take ages to figure out on your own. Since you're on 360, let me know if you need help getting through the growing pains. My GT is in my sig.

A few other things.

You may want to make your own tag and set up a silver acct you can take anywhere. Your character will otherwise be tied to your bro forever.

Don't use the trade window w/ strangers. Don't spam chat messages in the lobbies.

Use this to compare NPC prices in player shops:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox360/file/932621/46766 (it needs an update but everything you'll be buying will be on there for the most part)

Wear pants.

Don't loan your weapons to strangers.
Don't fall for anything that involves giving someone money.

Have fun.

Also White Beast on Neudaiz is the most popular mission (expansion needed) if you wanna level up quick a few times. Just jump in to a "C" mission party and stay w/ the group. Usually the leader will rerun it a few times.

Buy cheap Scape Dolls (they resurrect you)
