Here. (http://gameninja.deviantart.com/art/Christmas-Dizzy-72897799)

This picture is very late. But I still want to show what I can just so resently do. I'm experimenting with different shading styles, so how does this one look? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_confused.gif

uhh.. do you wan't critique for the whole pic? or just the coloring and shading? When it comes to shading, I know tons of tricks. When it comes to lineart, I suck a bit myself, but I can point out the basic problems.

The problem I got wit the shading:
• It's waaaaay to light! the pic looks very flat, try to use darker basic colors and MORE shading layers (I have around 5 layers for just the shading).
• There is no difference between casted shadows and the shading.
• Different materials need defferent shading.
• The lighting is way to hard, try using softbrushes @ low opacity @ color/linair dodge layers.

If you wan't some tips, or a small tutorials, then tell me http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I'd work on coloring with more traditional methods before working with CG but that may be more opinion than fact. Try using more contrast in your shading to make the image really "pop out" at the viewer.

The flaws with the lineart just mean you need more practice, nothing really big. Keep plugging away, I'm still not really good myself (but I don't draw enough). On a side note, your picture makes me want to draw ;o
