This might be a old question, but i don't remember seeing it around here, so...

the Red-Type weapons have letters encarved in them...
as follows:

saber - He
sword - a
dagger - t
partisan - h
slicer - cl
handgun - i
machgun - ff

that looks like Heathcliff to me... so it has any meaning?

they spell out the name Heathcliff. this is refeerence to heathcliff flowen the man who you are looking for in EPII. this weapons were first introduced in PSO Ver.2 for DC. they were bassicaly semi rare weapons that you found in Ultimate so you can actually do some damage to the enemys in that level. In Ver. 2 Ult was a lot harder and almost no Ver. 1 weapon would damage the monsters, at least if you went into forest at level 80 with say a raygun or varista, you got your ass handed to you on a platter.

Heathcliff Flowen.. is he the same flowen from the Flowen's Sword, in EP1 and the thousand diff flowen's swords from epI&II?
