Hello, I am rather new to the game, and I am just beginning to work with synth and grinders. Tonight since my beast character had +3 luck I choose to make some "a class grinders". I made several A+9’s and A+10’s when I took a weapon to the shop its condition was 3/10. The NCP said the chance was high or very high then the grind failed and reduced the weapon condition. Is their some kind of trick to grinding weapons or is it all purely dumb luck and it has no way to insure a good upgrade? It seems to be some what haphazard.

I did a forums search but did not find much info on this subject.

It is pretty much dumb luck, though some claim to have success using different grinders during certain grinds. I have found that I usually grind just as bad with any Grinder. But that's just because my real luck is bad.

heres what you do
1.take your xbox apart and MAKE SHOURE YOUR GAME IS ON!!!
2.take the chip that says xbox 360 off
3.eat the chip
4.jam a pen in the spining intercoolers

Is it the same process for PS2 ;o

...
But yeah, Grinding seems to be more luck than anything else. I grind my good weapons to 3-5 (depending on my day's luck), but I really haven't tried to go higher than 5... If I have a bunch of the same thing, perhaps... but grinding is ten times more of a gamble than the Casino will ever be >___>

the only trick you can use is to get 10-15 of the same weapon, hundreds of +10 grinders and then just go at it.

It's always luck, but you can tip the odds in your favor.
To begin with, only grind on 3-star luck days. When grinding the first 3 times, try to use +3-+5 grinders to be on the safe side. After that, use +8 or higher. Remember that the success rate is also increased if the grinder is a rank higher than the weapon you're grinding (for example, using an S grinder on an A weapon will added even more chance of success).
My rule of thumb is to ever risk grinding if the prediction is ever less than "very high" chances of grinding. If it's "high" or lower, I don't grind.
I've heard that supposedly there is a minute chance a grind will even fail if the clerk says "no chance of failure", but it's never happened to me.

Is this true? I seem to remember reading on here that this was not the case...

It's not true. The grinder grade only affects what wep it can be used on. The success modifier is the only thing that affects the odds of grinding. An S+10 would work the same on a C-rank as a C+10.

Which is why using an S+10 is stupid when you can use a c+10.

Oh...if you want to grind every time...

1. place weapon on disc sander
2. Turn on disc sander
3. Congrats on your grinded item.

no. end of story. please stop spreading this rumor lol.
S+10 = A+10 if its used on an A weapon
S+10 = B+10 if its used on a B weapon
S+10 = C+10 if its used on a C weapon

and every other number
