View Full Version : ST should have monkied the Eldar when giving Newman's triats

Psychic race, but more advanced because they use that power with their tech..

You mean like a race that is magically inclined and uses technological constructs to channel their power into spells?

Kinda like Newmen and Tech weapons!?

ShinMaruku
Jan 6, 2008, 12:10 AM
More psychically attuned than magically.
Thus using that to enable ability like warping around at short distances something that'd help them as hunters, and other abilities that also tie into other classes. But too far seeing for ST.

Maybe Newmans should have been more like the Mithras from FFXI, like the fast race?

Jan 6, 2008, 12:22 AM
You mean the G.I.R.L. race? :>

RegulusHikari
Jan 6, 2008, 12:26 AM
ST should have considered the Space Marines when making the Humans' stats. >_>

Beast = Orks
Cast = Tau
Human = Imperial Guard (lol)
Newman = Eldar
SEED = Chaos

Now all we need is a Necron race. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Shiro_Ryuu

Nah, I prefer Final Fantasy 11's race thing
Beasts = Elvaans
CASTs = Galkas
Newmans = Mithras
Humans = Not sure on this one, maybe the uhh...Humes?
Fifth race if they ever make one = Tarutarus (Might piss off a lot of Newman FTs who wanted the best char ._.)

Beasts might be more like Galkas though, and CASTs might be more like Elvaans.

no you got it right, Elvaan accuracy sucked. Newmans are more like Tarutaru if you ask me except for the whole height thing.

It should be against federal law to relate Phantasy Star to Final Fantasy in any what what-so-ever. Sega went out of there way to even use a Ph instead of an F for Phantasy xD (I thought that was hilarious btw... <___< )

Newmans should have faster attack speed with melee weapons, because on the old Phantasy Stars, newmans were known for their evasive and agile abilities in combat ;o
... Doesn't matter though, I'm still going to pick them overall http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I dunno, Newmans have the highest EVP, their ATP isn't that much behind Humans, and some old school fans might say that Newmans are like Mithras too, especially the whole all-female thing, although for Mithras, the dudes are all staying in their homes while only the chicks are getting involved in fighting. Dammit, my friends made me want to play this game so bad, but I just can't find a way to get it, having no car sux.

What height thing? Haven't you seen 99% of female newmans in PSU?

Shiro_Ryuu
Jan 6, 2008, 01:10 AM
Wow, my female newman alt is only part of that 1% that ISN'T a loli? I feel, unique.

Indeed.
But Human is Imperial Guard. If they had Space marines people would bitch. Them and Orks are similar in power
Necron race is just no...
That'd be wrong man.
Bosses would die regardless of level.
And the Eldar is the fast race. XD

You guys are stupid. They should of gone with Halo Rankings.

Beast=Brute
CAST=Spartan
Human=Grunt(:P)
Newman=...Prophets?
SEED=The Flood.

ShinMaruku
Jan 6, 2008, 01:43 AM
Human=forerunner.
But nay Warhammer 40K has the right there.
Casts would have what they already have as well as a advantage to dealing with Machine foes.
Beasts well they have things similar to a Ork except they are less intense.

Beast=Beast Boy
CAST=Bender
Human=Chuck Norris
Newman=Hermey (the elf who wanted to be a dentist from Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer ;o)
SEED=look under your bed <_>

Now those are the true role-models for the races http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Now another why to extrapolate on how they could have used Eldar as a model is by looking at the various units they got, Forces would well also take various ques from the seer. (Part which they do in story)

You can never put Halo in any equation when the last boss is a goddamned lightbulb.
You know for the ranger types the Dire Avengers have quite plausible tech and abilities to actually make kick ass rangers. IUf they did this they could have well really added good balance.

let's try world of warcraft.

Humans=Humans
Newman=Blood Elves
Cast=that one boss in gnomeragen.
Beasts=Tauren. lol!

beast =/= tauren. Sure they look alike but playstyle of beasts seems more.....orcish maybe?

Ffuzzy-Logik

Beast=Watermelon
CAST=Apple
Human=Orange
Newman=Alfalfa

...which makes about as much sense as the rest of these posts.

Insanity? THIS IS A SEGA GAME!

How does it not make sense? Brute looks like a Beast in Nanoblast.

And Spartans are mechanicly enhanced humans. That is kinda like a CAST.

Spartans are knock off of Warhammer 40K who are akso genetically enhanced. Casts are just androids.

True, but they can think, and make decisions on their own. They're basicly a enhanced Human when you think about it.

By that way they all are enhanced Humans (Which ther newmans and Beasts really are)

Now, that's such a sparkling endorsement of PSU there isn't it?

I'd say they could have done some interesting things.
