HI, I'm new to PSO (being online that is) and all but I have a problem! I posted this at the sega site, but I didn't get any help... Anyways, I got the broadband 2 weeks ago, and since then, PSO files on my memory card have been corrupted twice. I was at Lv 100 the first time(which pissed me off a lot) and Lv 29 the second time... Is there a way to avoid this from happening or is it my memory card that is screwed up. I have heard that some people were complaining because it has happened to them also. anyways, n e help would be appreciated! thanx

Is your card 3rd party or official? If it is 3rd party, trash it and go get an official one.

I used a 3rd party one for DC PSO, and it corrupted my character so many times, I smashed it into pieces.

Um, it's by nintendo, the black one(forgot how much memory it has) so it's not a third party... I'm using my old memory card now and hopefull that won't screw up...

I think there has been other people complaining about the BBA, because it was causing them to get a FSOD. But, thats about it.

Has anything gone wrong while you save the game, such as a power outage or turning off GameCube? You gotta let the file finish saving, or else it corrupts =>_>=;;; I made it a habit to wait for the title screen before turning off gamecube.

One of my friends almost corrupted my file. He turned of the GC while it was saving. His guy got corrupted and my character just lost all his items(including the ones in his bank) because I had transferred my character to his memory card.

I was pissed at him, but atleast I didn't lose my character.

Lol, now I don't feel goofy about doing the wait 'til the title screen thing =). As for the corrupts, it might be because it was a 251, I've heard that a lot of corrupts occur on other games on this card. Though I can't prove this because I just have two 59's.

I've been using a 251 and no problems what so ever so far. I don't think it matters the size of the card, as I have heard it happening on a 59 card as well. I just hope it never happens to me.

I use the black nintendo memory card with 251 memory and the same thing happened to me. Also I had other GC games who's memory got corrupted like the zelda promo disk, but Sonic Adventure 2 was the only one that didn't get corrupted.
My friend uses a third party card and he hasn't had problem and he's been playing longer than me.

Please don't bump threads that are 2+ weeks old.

I like ketchup too. Just ask my friends I put ketchup on everything. Even more ketchup!! I thinks it's because it's red like blood or my redria.

If u have another memorycard then make a random charater on it and transfer it over to the one that was corrupted. It is possible that u may get your charaters back.

It worked for me once.

Since there are memory cards there are ways to copy them. How about looking in to how to make a backup on pc.

I'm not for this method, but I've got a save from 235 hours of gameplay, so I'm considering it real hard.
