Can someone shed some light on this.

Like are there requirements to change series and do you lose anything if you do?

we do have em and they have various battle stat reqs to use, the highest being 30. im surprised the eng ver doesnt have em yet, cuz it feels like the jp ver has had them for quite a while now. ive been using the butler and he is pretty useful (^_^)

so can you keep your battle stats and synth trend?

How does it work exactly? does it only let you change to higher series like 46* or higher

or can u go from say 43* to 45*

Requirements:
41x series- 10 battle stat
42x series- 15 battle stat
43x series- 20 battle stat
44x series- 25 battle stat
45x series- 30 battle stat

470 (little boy)-10 battle stat
480 (butler) -30 battle stat

Cost for each is 100,000 meseta, as opposed to the 50,000 meseta for old devices.

thats what I'm wondering...could i have a 100 Striking 454? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

Synth trend is a mistranslation, as it actually tells what the PM uses in battle. An example of this is a pure TECH GH453. Her "Synth trend" is Firearms, because her main weapon is a Card.

But to answer your question, your PM will retain its stats, so with these devices you could have a 100 Striking GH454, yes.

first I heard of these. Very very cool. So why don't we have these yet? And when did JP get them?

Everything you said is correct, but I'm fairly certain that a GH-41x gets an additional bonus to Striking synths that you'd lose if you change it out of the series. I could be wrong, we'd just have to see when the EX devices come out.

Oh, great. Just what we need. Another rumor-mongering 360 user.

1. I'm not a 360 user. Everyone who parties with me from here knows that, and it says PC/PS2 in my profile http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

2. The "rumor" just comes from the fact that's been around since PSU launched. I'll just quote PSUpedia for the info (I'd quote PSUwiki, but most people here can't read it; I'd also quote the manual, but I'd rather not look for that box atm)

These distinct PM evolutions will become proficient at certain forms of Item synthesis: Striking, Ranged or TECHNIC weapons, and these given specializations will receive an increase in the success rate of that type of synthesis. No Partner Machinery model can specialize in the production of Line Shields.

So.. I think the logical conclusion is that if you change a Striking PM into a TECHNIC PM, it'll lose a bit of success in Striking synths.

Well, it doesn'tI don't see how we can be certain until we have a pure Striking GH-450 with the same boards as a similar GH-410 and compare the rates. PSUpedia very clearly states that no PM specializes in Armor, a category whose rates are dramatically (read: an overstatement) lower than the others when comparing pure PMs.

I'm just saying it's something to look into before switching your PM over to a different series.

Can be certain because it doesn't make any sense. =P
Each stat raises your success rate by a certain percent every few levels, which has long since been documented. If a specific PM series increased rates we'd have noticed. (A good example of this, would be an impure 410 with more than Striking raised on it.. those are very common as are a lot of other types, so we'd have noticed by now if any series offered bonuses over another, trust me.)

I can be certain because I've used the EX Devices on the Japanese version of PSU. There's no argument to this. Synth rates don't change.
