Edit: This is in response to the laughable suggestion that any instrument is cooler than the theremin. And I say this having only just now learned of the latter's existance.
I do believe that's proof of its sheer awesome factor.

I submit that the Internet, if considered an instrument, is cooler than the Theremin. Considering that without youtoobz, many people would not know what the Theremin was.

Found it myself a while back. Yeah, it is cooler, but I don't have one, now do I? We hates it, we do.

Well, I learned of theremin from the music part of the Champloo making of book where some lady was considered one of the few pro Theremin players in Japan.

Had to venture into the weird teenie bubble gum pop animumanga-mu section of the bookstore to find such a book.
