AotI-XBox 360: Give up Chat for a Server merge?

If at some point a server merge between PC/ps2 servers and the 360 servers, would the 360 community be ok with relinquishing the Chat system for a flawless merge to be possible?

Just wondering really, i would personally. I think i'd be better for the overall longevity of the game itself, but i'm just curious to see if others think the same way...

If they ever did it, they should just add "Voice Chat on or off" as an option. If it's on, PS2 users can't join. If it's off, anyone can. Pretty simple solution.

anywho, I would love to use a usb mic and voice chat with xboxer people, however I have played on xbox before and beleive me when I say this, it is NOT like pc/ps2. you CANNOT join a random party, they will curse you out and you get the boot for no apparent reason whatsoever, or most players do that etleast.

Its not that im saying 360 would corrupt our community, but its already bad as is, we dont need it.

I asked a GM and he said that would NEVER happen. Thats just dumb/bad business on ST's side.

They wouldn't have to give up Mics. It's not like they stripped typed text out of the 360 version. Communicating with a PS2/PC user would be the same as communicating with someone who has a broken mic. On the PS2/PC side, they could apply a patch which allowed voice output through the speakers.

Thats funny that you say that because I have very few problems with random parties. Sounds like an extreme generalization of the xbox gaming community.

Voice chat in PSU is an xbox live feature. Well I'm under the assumption that it is.

Not even bothered to read the bulk but no doubt the fact that PC has had facilities for in game chat for ages(Ventrillo, Crossfire, ermmm to name a few:)).... makes me wonder how usefull most people find it.

When I was XBox PSO, it was, semi-usefull I guess... a good way of passing those back to back TTF's without having to type but people still used bubble chat... speaking of I wish they'd bring THAT back, they wont for the very reason I wish they would though:).

Anyway, a merge with PC/PS2 will never, ever times infinitty happen. If it just PC then maybe. I am neutral on this and the whole console wars thing but I could see if there was a merge there would be like '360/PC only partys' and that sort of thing. Too much trouble.

Now merge the Japanese PC/PS2 and NA/EU PC/PS2 and NOW your talking.... but again wont happen.

Dunno, for the most part I find voice chat annoying in PSU since most of the time its either kids trying to talk like rappers or the idiots that think its absolutely needed so they can try and tell everyone what to do in a mission even though everyone else knows exactly what they're doing and probably knows more about the game. If I have something to say in game I'll say it and you can read it on my chat bubble.

More players would be nice, but 3/4 of a server's increase is in no way EVER going to be worth giving up voice chat.

Well, now that I have my mic on 360, I just CAN'T give it up. But having a mic should just be an added option. And not a reason to be incapatable with non mic users to just play together.

I'm all for merging all the servers (despite the haxeta). But lets face it, PSO had it's fair share of hacks and glitches as well. And we STILL played the game.
Legit players will bann together and hang out at a specific server once again. And the game continues on...

YEah this one time my PSU girlfriend left me after I had let her use (borrow, not HAVE lol!) my Psycho wand and blackbull ground 5/9 and my Ank Dedda (BEFORE the event when it was still RARE! lol!) and she left and didn't talk to me anymore and she had those weapons and I was sad for a couple days then I got back to playning and I have another girlfriend (on PSU of course!) and she doesn't want my stuff so it's good.

It will never happen.

Not only would it require a major patch (Which has to go through the stringent Microsoft screening process), many of the integrated Gamercard features would have to be removed, and that would also remove the whole Live integration......which is baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad. Sega/Microsoft would never go for it.

Also, the PC/PS2 economy is permanently damaged beyond repair. Why should teh 360 have to deal with balancing that out?

Think about it wy play a game when the poin of play it to lv up and find rares and that is it. What fun is it whan you have every thing in the game hack. What is there to do. You can go try to find more rares but you have every thing know. what is the poin of play the game then. True enough. The S+10 thing happened in December, and someone necro-posted in the thread. Those users have also been banned from PSU.

I find it amusing all the PC/PS2 players are all for this, while the 360 players are all against it. PC/PS2 players have everything to gain, and 360 users have everything to lose.

The mugging thing was completely off tangent. There's a very low likelihood of being mugged where I live, whereas the likelihood of a hacker rearing his ugly head is far higher.

And if I did what Chuck_Norris did on that first page, I'd be banned.

I love how exaggerated the PC/PS2 hacking is in the eyes of 360 players. So, a year ago haxeta emerges and tons of people get banned. Since then maybe... 4 people total have hacked the game and have done no harm to the community, aside from the 1 hacker who stole 11* items from stores.

While 99% of the PC/PS2 community is playing legit and the effects of haxeta has died down, the 360 users come up with grinder dupes and mechgun glitches, yet still look down on the PC/PS2 users as if we'd ruin utopia.

I find it all hilarious.

*Note: I'm sure some people mechgun glitch on the PC/PS2 as well, but the only known methods I've heard of it require the 360 gamepad...
