Partner Machine Question

I'm still fairly new to the online version of this game and I was wondering if the stats for your Partner Machine effect its combat ability at all or if it is for Synthesis uses.

Synthesis only. The stats DO affect which kind of PM it will be (GH410, 420, 430, 440, 450), but aside from those 5 classifications, the PM's combat ability will not be affected by its synth stats otherwise.

It does have an effect on combat. Different types have different combat tendacies and weapons. Some heal more, some attack more. They're still as dumb as your average NPC and nothing will change that - but a melee attacking PM is generally more useful in combat than a ranged gunner type. And both of them are generally more useful than a tech casting PM.

I'd raise your PM by it's synth trend, and just treat their place in combat as a diversion and meat-shield regardless of what type they are.
