Look at all this bad spelling. What was sega thinken. Did they even look at the finished worked. It was not this bad on DC versions. Look when you log on dialing is miss spelled 3 times. Also some weapons are messed up also. Look at Devils Tail, it says Davils Tail. Sheesh come on sega you can do better then this. Despite all this bad grammer; I really enjoy the game and forgive sega. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I dunno, I think Sonic Team themselves (and probably a few extra translators) have to translate the original Japanese text into English as well as Spanish, French and German, so I'll forgive 'em. Even then, it's always fun to laugh at the funny Engrish messages and misspellings. "HALBERT" has always been a favorite of mine; it's "HALBERD", guys. And why name a medium level FO weapon a... stick? Makes for some great preset chat, though.

Actually Halbert is a widely accepted variation of Halberd.

..Ok i'd like to see you translate 5 different laungages from Japanese to say the correct translation for the other 5.

Seriously did you know Japan calls "Cars" "Moving-Steal" wow, i bet you didn't. If you were a Japanese by defualt and took english as a second Language you think you giong to be perfect? K thx Einstein. This is the one break i'll give to ST.

Yeah, I think we can get over the fact that a few words were mispelled by a couple of letters. Sheesh.

I didn't know that. o_O Never heard "halbert" before PSO. Still sounds like a pretty funny word to me though. Bert.

I love my GAME MAGAZNE. Oh and the fact that in Rika's Claw description they refer to Rika as a "newman." I'm aware that in PSO it is "newman" but Rika is a "numan." There is a difference even though it probably sounds crazy. I could get my friend in here to explain it but um.. I won't bother her.

Anyway, it's not a big deal. It's just kinda funny the first time you see it, then who really cares?

Engrish rocks my ass! I would rather speak Engrish, or that weird ass English dialect that Ol G Dubbya speaks than English. Here in Phoenix we all talk like robots :/

What, was weiner too offensive? Heheh.

Anyway, to expand upon the initial post, I do agree. In fact, in my office, our secretary cannot spell worth beans... I mean, have teachers stopped the practice of penalizing students for poor spelling, or are they too stupid to realize it themselves? I just don't know.

How did you guess? I was actually going to use it as sarcasm to SEGA, but figured some 7 year olds might post wierd stuffs about it, so I changed it.

Tavia we have entered the golden age of spell checkers, and calculators. It dosen't matter if you can't spell, have poor grammar, and can only do the most basic of addition and subtraction because computers can do all of that, and more!.

P.S

commas pwn even if they aren't used properly they are my favorite punctuation doo dads.

I find quite a bit of irony in this thread seeing as how most of you can't spell. I don't quite understand how so many people fuck up such simple things as the difference between, "you're" and "your" not to mention "then" and "than." On a final note, "grammar" is spelled with an 'a', not 'e' =)

althogh i guess sega can be forgiven (just)... we still shouldnt have to put up with a shoddy translation like this... i'm dyslexic and my spellings not that bad (or at least i hope its not, "ulp...")

Hey, translation's difficult. I've been taking Spanish since 2nd or 3rd grade, and I still make mistakes trying to read or write it. My Spanish teacher makes mistakes as well... and Spanish is more similar to English than Japanese is.

Give them a break. I plan to take Japanese, and I'll probably sound absolutely ridiculous to native speakers, so I'm hoping they'll be kind to me. I think everyone should have a little bit of leeway when trying to speak a language that's not their own.

Remember everyone, this site is your friend.

http://www.engrish.com

Funny stuff over there.. don't hurt yourself laughing now. True it's very hard to translate the languages, but it's still amusing, since they constantly try to put English on various things.

BTW one problem with typing your and you're has to do with "meta-cognition" which is remember things by reflex/with your body. That is how you learn to type. Well sometimes (at least I have this problem.) You think in your heard "you're" and you type the "y" the "o" and the "u" and then you hit the r next out of habit. Find a word that ends in "ig" and watch you subconsiously put an n between the "i" and "g".

I understand that translation from japanese is difficult, but they have made mistakes in gc pso that were fixed in v2, davils tail in jp v2 was fixed to be devils tail in USv2 yet they seem to have gone back to davils for both versions of gc pso.

Uhhh...in PSO they spell Newman differently than they did back in the old PS4 days. Back then translation was worse, so Newman could quite possibly be the way they intended to spell it.

Alena Zouryx

Exactly. "Newman" used to be spelled as "Numan" on PS4.

I, personally am quite anal when it comes to errors. I recently returned a friend's e-mail, completely rewritten (it drives me crazy when they don't capitalize their "i"'s!) because he made so many mistakes. I don't mind when one word gets misspelled, especially if working with multiple languages, but when you try to correct them and your grammar is even worse, I feel compelled to laugh at you.
