alot of games take on names like that on certain characters to give them a symbolic meaning, just as sephiroth was trying to become a god. I personally like it when names like that are used as long as they are well placed. The fact that fanboys ruined its meaning by just mindlessly spamming it is unfortunate but the intended effect, hardly something to "blame square for" imo
