Hey there everyone,

I'm an oldschool PSU player, haven't played in a very long time though, wondering how things are now.

My highest level was around 45 I think, what's the level cap at now?

Also, just a couple questions about the new expansion. I read the sticky and it said it's its own stand-alone game, so how's that work out with the old PSU? Do the new expansion players not interact with the original PSU players, or is it still the same world, and just the people who don't have the expansion can't go in to certain lobbies, or use certain weapons or what? I couldn't figure out how this quite works, so please explain the deal on that.

Last time I played this game was probably almost a year ago, and the population was dwindling then, is it back up and thriving again since the expansion's been out? I remember the most popular world (Two I think it was.) Could barely hit 2-3 stars during peak hours. I play on the PC version btw, anyway, so is there still a variety of different levels playing?

That's about it for now, if I think of anything else I'll throw it in, or if any of you have anything you'd like to add go for it, I'd like any information I could get. Thinking about coming back, but yeah, was just wondering the condition the game's in now.

First question: are you going on PC or Xbox?

lol some one was not reading the post. To answer some of your questions the cap is 120 right now. PA cap is 40, new cloths are availible along with casino prizes as well as new weapons and all that happy horse trash. Hope that helps a bit.

It's not your fault, it's just that people see a wall of text and then only read the title and first line.

That's not a wall at all. He finely broke up his paragraphs into a manageable fashion, the longest paragraph just barely four lines (on my computer, anyway).

Anyhow, the population is not at all what it used to be, and will probably never be again. There are more than enough people to play with, however, so don't fret too much. You'll be forced to sheep it up and do the current popular mission, whatever it may be, but doing that for a bit will get you meeting new people, trading cards, and making friends and playmates.

Despite that, soloing has gotten to be a lot more manageable, as the abundance of currency is a new and wonderful thing, seeing how meseta drops like crazy and the new AoI missions give hefty bonuses. Not only manageable, but enjoyable and lucrative!

Um um um... I dunno, to sum it up, I have been enjoying the game much more since AoI despite how seldom I get to actually play. Picking the game up once a week or so is always a blast, and I have a few friends to play with when I do come around, so I suggest that for you. Friends make life easier!

Thanks for the replies, sounds good.

Only things I'm still curious about are how the old version of PSU and the new expansion interact together.

What exactly does the new expansion give acess too, is it like an addition to the old game, or is a completely different world, and more of its own game?

Which leads to can old PSU players without expansion play alongside people with expansion?

Anybody that could explain what the expansion brought to the table, and how old PSU players and new expansion players are segregated, would be very much appreciated. Maybe it's something very obvious I'm missing, but haven't been able to find much info on that.

People without the expansion are unable to play certain missions, use certain classes etc. But both players can still play in the original PSU missions, (a fair few of which have been unlocked since you last played I imagine.)

Oh yeah, one last thing, don't know if this has been cleared up yet but...

Lets say my bud decides to play the game with me, can he just go out and buy the expansion, and be able to play the full version of the game?

I've read the expansion is its own standalone game, but what I'm asking is does it include the previous game? So if he has to go out and buy the game, does he need to buy both, or just the expansion?

Thanks.

The expansion is the entire original game, hence not needing v.1. Plus AoI has a shit-ton more content. Yet alongside all this, still a shit-ton more to be released. I highly recommend buying the expansion if you can. I rarely see a v.1 player these days.

If you decide to stick with v.1, you'll be missing out on a lot imo.

Basically, as a Ver. 1. Player, anything that's AoI related (the expansion) will be written in yellow (this includes other player names and missions) and you will not be able to have access to anything that's written in yellow, however you can still interect with ver. 2 players and do missions with them, just not missions written in yellow (ver. 2)

Also, if a ver. 2 player is wearing ver. 2 exclusive clothes and/or using ver. 2 weapons, as a Ver. 1 player you will see a different set of clothes (a default ver. 1 set of clothes) and their weapons will be seen as a default versions of the type of weapon (i.e. if they've got an uber huge spear, you will only see a standard default spear).

Another (very annoying) thing is, you won't be able to go to ver. 2 player rooms/shops nor will you be able to trade with a ver. 2 player even if you just want meseta or something. Anyways, I think most people here would say to get the expansion and I wouldn't blame them, it's basically PSU but with much more content in nearly all areas. Also on the PC/PS2 servers I've seen Universe 2 go up to 4 stars in its peak, so there are plenty of people out there (and it seems the number is growing due to AoI only been out a week ago over here in the UK, and other parts of Europe should be getting it a little later)

Edit: To answer your question, the Expansion is basically the full original game with many, many more extras. You don't need the original and once you input your PlaySega username/pass all your original characters get converted to ver.2 (and your name becomes yellow). It's just the case of getting the expansion and throwing the original away.
