As stated in the subject line, this information deals with the Japanese PC/PS2 servers' upcoming event, Dengeki Mission Carnival, which is scheduled to begin February 28. If you have no interest in this information, turn back now. Do not bring your whining in here.
From Shougai PSO (http://www.g-heaven.net/pso/topics/080207a.html), we have lots of new information on Japan's next event from the latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation. Previous information can be viewed here (http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=166882&forum=20).
Event plan
This event, as we already know, is sponsored by Dengeki PlayStation, a popular Japanese gaming magazine. Just like with the 1Up Platinum Cup (and Famitsu Cup), the magazine's editorial staff will be represented in-game with custom avatars to pass out event-exclusive items.
This event will begin February 28 and end April 03.
There will be six missions associated with the event. These will be accessed in a special lobby, likely the vacant tenant space on the third floor of Clyez City.
This event will be running during Valentine's and White Day, so expect to see Rappy and Jaggo Amures on occasion.
Party mission: Television Puzzle
Multiple paths will be available at the beginning of the mission.
Players will collect "Polytan Bowls" that are scattered about the field.
These items will be used to make "fence art" with various laser fences. Basically, fences will be activated and deactivated to complete images on the ground. Think connect-the-dots.
When an image is complete, a boss room will be opened.
The boss you fight is determined by the image created.
As the event progresses, new layouts will be added to this mission.
Survival mission: Do-or-Die
The basic idea is to see how long you can last in the arena.
As waves of enemies are defeated, the next spawn of enemies' attack power will increase as their HP decreases.
If a party member is incapacitated, they will not rejoin the battle. The surviving member will have to go on without them.
At certain intervals following the defeat of a wave of enemies, the party will be given the choice to continue or quit.
If you elect to end the mission, you'll be taken to the rewards area where you will open boxes filled with items equivalent to the level of the last enemies defeated.
Quiz mission: The Protectors' Choice
The party will be presented with 10 questions; each member will have 30 seconds to answer.
Grades are given on an individual basis, so the party does not have to come to a consensus on their answer. Each member will choose their own answer.
Some of the questions will link back to experiences in the mission "Television Puzzle." For example, you might get a question such as "How many bosses have you defeated in this event?" or something of the like.
Bonus containers will be accessed at the end of the mission no matter how the party did. The number of containers that appears will be proportionate to the number of members in the party.
Check your vision phone throughout the event, as hints on what questions to expect will be given.
If you get all of the questions correct, a special item will be awarded to you at a later date following the end of the Mission Carnival.
Item exchange mission: Dengeki Editorial Department
You'll be able to trade Dengeki Tickets (received in Television Puzzle) for special items.
Race mission
This mission doesn't have a name yet, but it will have players racing on airboards against one another.
Three modes of play will be available: single-player time attack, multi-player competition and a free mode where you can ride at your leisure.
Versus mission
Unfortunately there is no new information on this player vs. player mission. Please see this thread (http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=166882&forum=20) for all that's known currently.
