Has anyone had the feeling that theyve become addicted to this game?
If you answer YES to any of these questions, consider seeking help. Help is ALWAYS there

1. Have you ever faked sick, went home from school early, or told your boss you wouldn't be in because you really wanted to level up?

2. Have you ever spent a whole night - 9pm up into 6am play this game?

3. Do you have more then 1000 hours on your character. 1000 hours = about 83 full days.

I don't agree with 3 it's not like you played 83 days in a row. Time adds up especially the longer you've had the game.

No because you get excercise and... sunlight?
I was thinking about stuff like this too but I guess it comes down to that video games aren't healthy if played all day but when you snowboard all day you get exhausted but get muscle, thus making you more manlier xD j/k

Exercise doesnt change whether or not your addicted, it's just a healthy addiction...

Addiction is a serious thing. I'm not trying to make this joke. Any given person can become addicted to any given thing. I'm trying to reach out and help others what I had to go through. I am an ex-addict of this game. Dont get me wrong, I still play it. But not to the extent in which I used to. Im a great talker and an even better listener and i will keep everyting confidential. If you see me on the 5th floor and need to talk, invite me.

Hey, I think the OP is trying to reach out to any one that needs help. Video game addiction isn't a joke, its ruined lives very easily.

And he is recommending psychiatric assistance, which is very good. I have heard of some groups that use "The Power Of Jesus Christ" to get people to stop gaming like madmen/women. That's just a load of BS. I have put 866hr on my main and 150hr and 100hr on my 2 secondary characters, that's 1116~ hrs in 15 months!! I could have learned Japanese, French, and maybe another language in that time!

If I had been working at Starbucks for that time, I could have made $8.75 x 1116hrs = ~$9750.00 in cash-money!

And just because you're content to "Poop Sock" your life away, someone might need a shove to get out of the game.

I don't want to sound like an ass but please mind your own business. Everyone has their own issues and their ways of dealing with it. Plus, if they are truly addicted, they shouldn't be looking for help from a person who plays the game they're addicted to. It's the friends and family that have to reach out to these people.

what if your family and freinds are addicted then what

Pharaoh007
Feb 7, 2008, 09:53 PM
Ok 1000 hours working at starbuck may be 9750 dollars but you can still get 1000 hours of game play easily with a 1000 hours at a job over large time frame. And alot of people who have over 1000 hours have school anyway. You think it's addiction to have over 1000 hours but I can almost assure you anyone who watches TV in place of playing games has WAY over 1000 hours of watching, (but they wont ever know because when they turn on there TV it doesnt show there accumulated watching time).

It's all how you manage it.

I've pulled plenty of all-nighters if I didn't have work the next day. I'm just a night person in general. I have 1000 hours on my main...a lot of that is idle time too though.

well ive long called PSU xbox crack, seriously one good hit and you are hooked. it is only a problem when you are arranging your life, not just the free time around the game (i dont mean fixing up a long weekend so you can spam an event, ppl do that with sports they JUST WATCH ON TV so that isnt a big deal) and forgoing family obligations .

i would also advise on a friendly nature for someone who suffers addiction of any kind to get some help. PSU did have a hold on me until the dupe glitch last month, when i got banned...... realization that it wasn't the end of the world hit me and the other things i love and enjoy with the same fervor came back into focus. yes i have another account now but i am playing it less obsessively than previous times.

basically enjoy the game and know how much is enough and knock it on the head when u feel tired or frustrated with the game. because the next level comes obsession and fixation it is this part which leads to the dark si...... i mean dependency and addiction.

1. No, It's not needed and I don't work.
2. No, I don't play in the night...It's bad. Maybe when it's in the holidays again and I'm bored.
3. No, In total I only have like 300 Hours and I play with 2 people on 1 account, like half of it is mine.

Yeah, playing games and watching a lot of tv is a waste of time. You know, but it's about the fun. You don't want a boring life don't you? You can work all the time you've put in the game, you can do anything else. But as a gamer you should consider that before playing. It's not hard, you know it takes much time. Just don't take all these things up when your just looking back like "oh, i could've done this and that" This kind of things happen a lot in many ways (not only gaming and tv). You can't change it.

Most of time i'm just bored, It's not my fault I'm stuck here most of my time. Just need something to do to fill in my day to have some fun, so I just play games or something. I can do other things...But it depends on in what kind of mood I am in.

1. Never. I have left work early but only to get errands done or to rest if I don't feel well.
2. I have attempted to pull all-nighters just for fun but never make it. The worst is when I got up for an exciting update and played from 2am until I had to go to work. That was pretty bad http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif
3. I started a week after launch and swore I would only have one character now I have all four and about 2000 hours total.

I attribute some of the addiction to being situational but as soon as the weather perks up, no more excuses I'm going back to two evenings a week of PSU and thats it. Which will be good since I want to take a couple of classes this Spring/Summer if possible.

I played this game and ONLY this game for 14 months straight. Every day 6-8 hours a day. On weekends it would be 14-18 hours. Now since AOTI I slowed down. I only play a few nights a week now and for only 2 hours. Why glitches, like slowdown, techs slow me bad. I had to solo for the first 2 months I could not party at all. And the hits just keep on coming. It is like it never ends. They add something it is messed up. The fortune lady for instance. there is alot more too. I just about had it to be honest. inb4gigrarz: My money and rares go with me.
