Does anyone have any information as to the point and bonus system and how far it goes?
So far I've done each of the 5 missions 5 times each on S2 with an ending rank of A-S. The data I've collected so far is as follows:

First set of 5 (5pts in each): 14% bonus
Second set of 5 (10pts in each): 18% bonus (+4% increase)
Third set of 5 (15pts in each): 20% bonus (+2% increase)
Fourth set of 5 (20pts in each): 26% bonus (+6% increase)
Fifth set of 5 (25pts in each): 28% bonus (+2% increase)

I'm still considered a Standard class.

If anyone has any additional information, please post it.

So, the points go up aswell? I didn't notice this, on my second run (half done), I still got 4 points for an S rank on S rank. Hurrah for confusing terminology.

Don't wanna track off of topic, but can anyone tell me if the boost bonus, effects all four characters in a liscense, or just one character for the bonus points earned?

The people you play with boost the shown rate.

The highest individual boost is 50%, you need 155 GBR points in each mission for that, so 31 "laps" of the 5 missions, on S2.

is it per character, or per account? (the boost)

Per character.

What a huge waste of time.

Perhaps the same could be said of all video games.

You're right, but let me qualify. In Boost Road, the drop rate increases up to 50% after many many missions. Let's look at something like the orpad guard. Let's say it's drop rate is 1 / 1000 or 0.001. If it's rate is increased by 150%, the new drop rate is 1.5/1000, or 0.0015. Over 1000 runs, you will find 0.5 more orpad guards. So over 10000 runs, you would find 5 more orpad guards with the boost.

I truly believe that if the orpad / guard is what you want, you would have a better chance spamming that mission alone over and over(only at the 100% drop rate). After all, when you are fulfilling the boost road requirements of other levels, you have ZERO chance to get the drop you want.

however if you wanted orpad guard, gudda hon ank zazga etc, then you may as well do gbr to max it up then spam your chosen thing, 31 laps is a bit excessive though

I don't know about future GBR missions but Desert Goliath isn't one of the missions this time. I'm not sure if the Orpad / Guard thing was just an example of it being a waste but no boost there anyhow. And it's not just drop rates that can be boosted in these missions. It's mission points, experience, or photon art experience boosts also. It depends.

agree 31 is way too much.

31 isn't too much, you can manage a whole lap a day on S2 with a nice team of four people. That's a month right there, what's all the hurry to get these rare items?

If it really bothers you that much though, you can power through them at C rank until you get the maximum points then run the desired mission over and over for the maximum benefit. Why do people complain about what they're given? Would these places even be run at all if Sonic Team didn't even implement the GUARDIANs Boost Road?

Once people have played it more you'll get teams with at least a 100% drop bonus and then it won't seem so pointless. I had one run recently where 3 Shigga Desta dropped in quick succesion, it was nutz. That was only 114% I can't imagine how it will be when it builds up more. I do however get the feeling that the boss boxes are nerfed or at the very least don't see any bonus.

My idea is run them all 15 times on S2 to get the 45% bonus, its not worth running them all 16 more times for 5% more. So get 45% bonus then spam the mission of ur choice for those loots and hope for forest in the process.

that's a good idea. also, how does the pa leveling work? Like how much faster does your pa's level up and do they level up quicker as you get more points?

PA experience is not affected by GBR or Forest of Illusion in any way to my knowledge. I believe Sega stated that the player base showed interest in an increased PA experience version of GBR, but they haven't said anything about actually doing it (aside from readjusting the values in an update in the near future).

I'm planning on making a group of 6 with everyone at 40%+ bonus (totaling 240%+), and see what that does to the drops.

Does it help with boss boxes any?

Zorak000
Feb 11, 2008, 03:46 PM
well... boss boxes always drop an Item, so no. all drop rate boosts do is increase the rate at which something that could NOT drop an item, drops an item (i.e. monsters and non-boss boxes)

also, as a 360ite I would like to know, if you are not faithful to the GBR and you play other missions, does your boost go away, forcing you to start over? from what I hear, ppl are happy to find FoI so I am assuming no

Not really. It takes 31 to get to 50%; you're just a little under half way.
