There is a giant rock in front of you. Its not doing anything, but its there. Kill it.

My trusty, rusty hammer finally gets it's chance to shine! (Well, not literally, seeing as it's all rusty)

Can't I just roll it off a cliff into a deep lake?

You could. Would that kill it though?

Nitro Vordex
Feb 9, 2008, 06:56 PM
Well, it can't drown, considering it can't breathe.
however, it WOULD erode in the water.
Alex wins. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

On the contrary, even eroded to sand, it still isnt dead.

Fine, you want to be technical??
You can't kill what's not alive.
Something can't be dead unless it was alive.
I win.

A person diced to bits is dead. A tree chopped into spars is dead. A rock eroded my water is dead.

Yes, you're absolutely correct, but you don't win. This is quite doable with a little magic.

That Fatal Fury Animuuuvie was weirder than the SF ones, I'll give them that.

one antimatter drop and its all over, the rock will be dead

(antimatter + matter = annhilation of said matter converting it entirely into energy)

i win!

Antimatter causes cancer, you win radiation therapy.

You'll get a massive explosion

Nitro Vordex
Feb 10, 2008, 03:07 PM
He's got you there Talon.

TalHex
Feb 10, 2008, 03:19 PM
matter to energy does usually result in an explosion, but the components of the rock will be gone! only way to destroy matter is to convert it *nodding sagely*

Nitro Vordex
Feb 10, 2008, 04:48 PM
Well, technically the energy is the components of the rock.
Or was, until it decided to go Electrode on us.

Randomness
Feb 10, 2008, 06:04 PM
And you've merely metamorphised the rock, still not dead yet.

Ashkahn
Feb 10, 2008, 06:40 PM
We could just hurl it into a black hole and reduce it to a quantum singularity.

Of course, then we would only have a sub-atomic rock...

Damn. This is tough. How about we just plot ways to use said rock to kill other people?

TalHex
Feb 10, 2008, 07:02 PM
its impossible due to matter conservancy

"matter can neither be destroyed nor created"

Randomness
Feb 10, 2008, 07:19 PM
Well, if it was ALIVE, you could kill it, couldn't you?

Anduril
Feb 10, 2008, 07:41 PM
What if I put some googly eyes on it and smash it with a hammer?
But wait, what if it's just a guy dressed as a rock?

Nitro Vordex
Feb 10, 2008, 07:59 PM
You guys need to remember, we are trying to kill the rock, not destroy it.
Yes, there is a difference.

Anduril
Feb 10, 2008, 08:03 PM
So why don't we just drop the rock here in Fresh Kills Landfill? Wouldn't that technically kill it?

Nitro Vordex
Feb 10, 2008, 08:04 PM
No, that would mutate it.

Shergon
Feb 10, 2008, 08:33 PM
Why kill it, just walk around it???

Because, it's defying us.

TalHex
Feb 10, 2008, 10:01 PM
because its a rock and its there! thats why!

Shergon
Feb 11, 2008, 07:36 AM
Good point.

Randomness
Feb 11, 2008, 03:40 PM
You guys need to think outside the box a bit more.

*animates rock into a golem*
*blows golem to peices*

See? Dead rock.

Shergon
Feb 11, 2008, 07:29 PM
A Golem it still a rock. So it isn't alive.

Let's just carve "Best by Sept. 5, 2001" into it.
